10.50am Sonal Dinusha and Lahiru Udara hold on to the trophy as Sri Lanka pose in front of the board that rightly reads 'Champions'. It's been a fine win, ending a streak of five games without victory in Tests. It means they head into their nearly year-long hiatus from Tests with a good result on the board. For Bangladesh, a series that started so brightly, ends in a familiar feeling of disappointment. But that's all the action from this series. Here's Madushka's report to recap SL's win. It's been a lot of fun. Thank you for joining me, Madushka, Vairavan, Sudeep and everyone else at ESPNcricinfo. Join us again for the white-ball series between these two teams. Goodbye!
10.40am Time for the presentation ceremony.
Dhananjaya de Silva: "There was a difference between two matches. Bowlers and batters did well in the first innings here. Bowlers had their plans and executed well. That's a good morale booster for us, losing the toss and putting the opposition under pressure. Of course [Dinusha] has the ability to get some breakthroughs. [Young players] It's a very good sign when you have a strong bench putting pressure on the playing XI, that's the team I wanted. [On Nissanka] He's been performing in all three formats for a long time and I think he will continue to do that."
Najmul Hossain Shanto: "Very disappointing after how we finished the first Test, the way this one went. Way we batted in the first innings wasn't up to the mark. We had opportunities but we couldn't make those things. I still feel we should have batted first. The wicket is a little slower but the way we got out was not good enough. We always took easy options and made mistakes while batting. I think the way we bowled on Day 3 really nice to see in these kind of conditions."
Pathu, Nissanka is the Player of the Match. And the Player of the Series! Pathum said he is happy to have done well at home for the first time and he gave it his all, and spoke about the difference in pitches in Galle and Colombo.
Stay with us, we'll bring you quotes from the presentation soon...
Mayukha: "When was the last time SL won a test by an innings? " -- Their last win, against New Zealand in Galle. They played five Tests in between, losing four of those.
And Shubham Agarwal informs me of this stat -- Most innings victories for SL:
vs Bangladesh: 9* vs Zimbabwe: 5
10.32am Well, it's barely taken half an hour today for Prabath Jayasuriya to complete his five-for and Tharindu Ratnayake to add the finishing touches to another commanding victory. Nine wickets between the spinners this innings, with DDS taking a couple yesterday.
Sri Lanka lost the toss, but bowled well and Bangladesh folded cheaply. Then, Sri Lanka put on a masterful batting display, led by Pathum Nissanka and Dinesh Chandimal. Kusal Mendis' charge on Day 3 all but ensured the hosts wouldn't have to bat again, and their spinners completed the job. A big game for Prabath Jayasuriya, who was indifferent in Galle. A fighting allround performance from Taijul Islam goes in vain, but I am sure it won't be forgotten by those who watched.
Akindu: "Huge confidence booster for Srilanka starting the WTC cycle, after a lean run toward the end of the previous one. Very unfortunate that the team cant continue the momentum this year, but instead have to wait till next year. Which means we wont see the team in whites till next year as well :("
NOOBIE: "Prabath is back with a banggggggggggggggggggggggggg..............................."
