Emon continued to attack in the powerplay, hitting two fours and two sixes before scoring his maiden T20I fifty. Bangladesh lost a few wickets in the middle, while Litton and Hridoy were unable to contribute significantly to their innings. After the innings, it came down to Parvez Hossain Emon vs the UAE bowlers. What an innings by the youngster! Bangladesh's quickest century in T20I history was also accompanied by the most sixes in an innings. Muhammad Jawadullah was the UAE's best bowler, taking four wickets against the run feast. We'll return for the run chase after a brief break.
Parvez Hossain Emon: "Thank you so much. Alhamdulillah. This was my first hundred in International cricket. I am so happy for that. I think my team management there believes in me and gave me an opportunity, so I just try my best. (Special message for the fans) Lots of Bangladeshi people are coming and supporting us. It will be inspiring for us. Also, when I was batting in the middle, they shouted, 'Emon! Emon!' It was more inspiring. Thanks to them for supporting."
Sean Daniel: "Extraordinary inns by the youngster when u consider the next best score is 21 and that too are extras."
Vishwesh Gaur: "After 9 years, Parvez Hossain Emon becomes the second Bangladesh batsman to score a hundred in T20Is. His century is also the fastest by a Bangladeshi after Tamim Iqbal, who reached the milestone in 60 balls."
