Bavuma collects another trophy he is going to add to his cabinet, takes it over to his team that's waiting with the pose, and he almost keeps it on the ground before giving it that loft high over his head, and the team erupts in celebration. India have suffered three whitewashes at home in the history of Test cricket, two of them from South Africa, and two of them in the last 12 months (after New Zealand's 3-0). While South Africa continue their dream run in the format everyone thought was losing relevance with the growing T20 leagues, India will be forced to introspect, especially around their batting line-up. Who would have thought it would end with 2-0 at home, after their epic 2-2 series in England only a few months ago with a team that wasn't too different. India don't play another Test match for another nine months, so there's plenty of time to look within and plan, for the team arangement and the board. South Africa can go on and party now in Guwahati, sitting second on the WTC points table, behind Australia, and the ODI series still four days away. With that, it's a wrap for us for the Test leg of this tour. Thanks for tuning in, it's goodbye and good luck from S Sudarshanan, and me, Vishal Dikshit. Ciao!
Time for the presentation...
Temba Bavuma with another trophy: It's massive. For me personally being out of the game for a couple of months for injury. It's not everyday you can think of coming to India and win 2-0. As a group we've had top days and we know how tough we can be. It's another incredible achievement for us. This answers some questions that were posed to us as a group. Big shift in our mindset in terms of what we want to do out there and adapt accordingly. Our preparation was apt, the guys were clear on their roles, as a unit the biggest thing was guys wanting to contribute. There was a strong sense that anyone can contribute on their day, even guys coming from the bench like Muthusamy. As a team we're in a good space and it will grow our confidence even more. Clarity and communication is a big thing in the group, who stands where and what's expected from them. As a captain sometimes it's hard to take the ball out of bowler's hand, they want to keep bowling. We didn't have big centuries but four-five guys who can score 60s-70s (makes a difference). I can go on forever, this team is in a good space. Simon has the experience of playing here in 2015, as a spinner he has wealth of experience. He complements Keshav really well, he's on the taller side. I appreciate the competitiveness between the two spinners, Simon was the man for us in this series. A guy like Simon, and everyone stepping up speaks about what they want to do for the team.
Who else but Simon Harmer the Player of the Series: It's been a long road, 10 years later back here and completely different feeling. I'm going to leave with fonder memories compared to the last time. Getting over the line as a team over this Indian team is a hell of an effort. I was watching the second innings when India bowled, how the ball was after after 40 overs. The deterioration and footmarks in the pitch, the ball that Rishabh got if you look at that (showed how the pitch was). Nice to finally get a five-for in India. We knew they would bat for their lives today. There were some sharp catches in the slips from Aiden and a couple from Jansen in the end. Really looking forward to celebrate. Going back home, Keshav's records speak for themselves, he's our No. 1 spinner, I'm happy to be the second spinner. I'll take what chances come my way and keep trying to get better. Another county season for Essex, some home games and we don't play Test cricket until October next year.
Rishabh Pant, the captain for this game: It's little disappointing. As a team we need to get batter. Credit to the opposition for playing better than us. They dominated the series but at the time you can't take cricket for granted. We're playing at home and sometimes we were up in the game but we didn't capitalise on them and we have to learn and get better. Whether you're playing at home or away cricket demands that determination and the extra effort. As a batting unit you need to capitalise on certain moments. As a team we didn't do that. The positives from this series will be to focus on our own plan.
Marco Jansen the Player of the Match: Winning a Test match and series in India is very special. Very well done to everyone for putting their hand up and making this happen. We just spoke about doing the simple things well and assessing conditions to change our plan, and sticking to what works. I just give all the credit to Shuks (Conrad, head coach). He told me to go out there and express myself. It means everyone is working very hard, and doing what is required, what we need to in individual capacity. We're always trying to improve, we play for each other and give our best.
12.33pm Bavuma gets a grand hug from coach Shuki Conrad as he gets to the dugout, and together they have handed India their biggest Test loss (by runs) by 408 runs. What a script they are writing for South African cricket, hoisting their flag wherever they go. The WTC final was the biggest of the lot, but now they are doing it in South Asia like never before. They conquered Dhaka and Chattogram last year, they leveled the series in Rawalpindi last month and now they make history in Kolkata and Guwahati. Temba Bavuma, the man at the helm, his spinners and Jansen leading the way with the wickets (and don't forget that catch to stamp their name on the trophy), their batters pretty much showing India how to bat in Test matches, that too on Indian soil. Have a look at these numbers:
Harmer with the most Test wickets for SA in India, going past Dale Steyn who's sitting in the commentary box (or might have sprinted down to celebrate).
Most Test wins as captain without losing a Test - Bavuma leads the way with 11 victories in 12 matches, he was joint with Mike Blearily who had 10 from 15 before this.
Markram: It's a great feeling, great effort from everyone. It's not easy talk coming to India, in tough conditions that are foreign to us. As a group you've got to believe you can complete against the best in their backyard, with few moments of good luck along the way and bloody proud of the team. As a unit we've been pretty good to find ways to adjust to the conditions [in south Asia, winning in Rawalpindi]. A lot of chat about spin, quality seamers with the new ball. It's a big test of character coming here and winning. (On breaking the record for most catches in a Test - nine) I didn't know that, but credit go the bowlers and you try and catch them. (On the spinners' effort) It's huge, obviously spinning the ball in different ways and the two of them getting it into the rough. You have to do that for long periods of time, credit to them. (Batting early with Rickelton) It was tough, to be honest and there was some grass on the wicket against quality seamers Siraj and Bumrah. The guys that came in after us showed us how to get a big score and made us proud.
Raju M Iyer: "What a walloping!"

Just one fielder in the deep, on leg. Not many singles on offer with two balls to go
Ash: "I hope heads roll in the team India and team management after this disaster. "
Some cheers Bumrah walking out on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. South Africa just two wickets away from making history. Slip, leg slip and short leg
