That concludes our coverage of the series-sealing second game between Australia (winners) and India (who'll want to avoid a whitewash in Sydney). Join us then. Thanks for your company now, appreciate it as always. Seriously, genuinely, no mayo. On behalf of Alex Malcolm, my co-commentator, and Chandan Duorah and Thilak Ram, our scorers, it's goodbye and goodnight!
Shyam: "Did Adam Zampa just call himself one among the older guys? what a way realize that we are now old" lol but just fyi Zampa's 33
Vishal Misra: "Matt Short, Cooper Connolly, Xavier Bartlett (all San Francisco Unicorns), and Mitch Owen (Washington Freedom) were the stars for Australia. All not IPL stars but Major League Cricket Stars. If only there was a way for Indians to be just a little bit more familiar with their games, maybe they could've pulled this off."
Abe: "Do you think we'll see Kohli back next game? He looked off today." lol I'm wondering what the folks who have tickets for the game think
CJS: "Lot of learning for the new Indian captain, he let key moments slide. Stuck with Rana and Axar for too long, could have brought in Siraj and Arshadeep early to the attack."
Mitchell Marsh, Australia captain Been awesome. It's rare to play in front of big crowds in ODI cricket. Thrilled to have won the series. Josh took the best none-for I've ever seen. We were outstanding with the bat too. I'll start calling him Chaos, future's bright for Australian cricket with guys like them. We'll certainly have a beer and enjoy ourselves in the changing room, but small turnaround between this game and next. India are a great team, so we'll want to enjoy this win.
Shubman Gill, India captain I think we had just enough runs, never easy with a couple of drops. Wicket got better as the ball got older. Toss was more crucial in the first game, not as much this time. Both teams played almost 50 overs. Wicket settled nicely after the first 10-15 overs first innings. (Rohit) He's back after a while, pleased with how he fought it out in the initial phase.
Adam Zampa, POTM Nice to beat India, always been a good battle with them in ODIs. Two teams that are able to adapt to conditions really well. Great to test ourselves vs them. Grateful to come onto bowl generally after Starc. (Captain Marsh) His beauty is he's relaxed, never emotional. We older guys run our own show.
10:08pm 2-0 Australia. Is that it? Is that what you'll want to tell England in a while? Was all this just a ruse to get a dose of that feeling? If yes, genius! But jokes aside, it was a great game. Kinda reminds why bilateral ODIs thrived as much as they did for as long as they did and why they survive (although only barely) even now.
Isadora: "What's this talk of Starc batting at 3? Did I miss something? " um, just an AI commentator went too far trying out a joke
Tim: "Did Australia just win by a WIDE margin??" And the award for the. best. comment. of the. day. goes tooo... (I can't remember most of them, so let's just say) Tiiiimmmm!!!!
Rashed Almazi: "Connolly is like cool as cucumber " Can't say Connolly without saying cool... or at least using those letters
