4:07pm 43 overs - that was how long this innings lasted. Zimbabwe had a mountain to climb before they even faced a ball, and that has only gotten steeper. Williams, who raced away to an unbeaten 83 off 55 balls, was the lone bright spark, with the others not really covering themselves in glory. They will have a shot at it again in a few minutes' time, although the improvement will have to be drastic and prompt.
South Africa, meanwhile, will be thrilled with how their bowlers bowled. Subrayen, on debut, bagged four and used whatever help was on offer. Yusuf and Bosch had set the tone earlier, with two wickets in two overs right at the start. The others, including Mulder and Muthusamy also chipped in and now that South Africa have enforced the follow-on, they will be fancying their chances of going for the jugular. Join us in a bit for Zimbabwe's second innings.

Hello again, everyone. Williams ploughing his way through to a century. But can he get there? This may seem a little sub-plot in the grander scheme of things but it is a sub-plot nonetheless. Subrayen to continue from around the wicket
