4:20pm That will be all from us for today. We will be back at it tomorrow, hoping that the weather is much better and hoping that we can finally see some action this series. Until then, from Ranjith and myself (Shashwat), this is goodbye!
4:17pm We have some disappointing news, folks. The plug has been pulled for today as well, and the second T20I, like the first one on Thursday, has also been abandoned without a ball being bowled.
4:10pm The inspection is still on and under the cover of umbrellas, the umpires are chatting to the ground staff.
4pm The umpires are out in the middle again, indulging in an inspection. They still have their umbrellas up, though, and it looks pretty dark overhead. Not sure we will get a start time once this inspection is done.
Bhuvi: "Raining in Bready and surrounding areas right now. Hoping for some live action!"
3:30pm Visuals suggest that it has gotten much darker than it was a few minutes ago. Not sure if the rain has increased in intensity, though. The covers, as they have been for the past hour (at least), are in place.
3:13pm We have some news, folks, although unsure what to make of it. There is an inspection scheduled for 4pm local time. But as things stand, the covers are in place and there is a threatening dark cloud overhead.
3pm The umpires make their way out to chat to the ground staff, with their umbrellas up. It remains gloomy at the ground, and it continues to rain.
2:50pm The latest from the venue is that it is still raining steadily, with the covers firmly in place. Looks like another one of those days, unfortunately.
2:40pm This looks like another waiting game here in Bready. But a couple of hours ago, South Africa banished a history of heartbreak to clinch their first-ever WTC title, not far from here. Go on, give it a read.
2:15pm Have you heard of quiet-quitting? That is finding ways to do less for more - or for at least the same reward as before - and with a better work-life balance? Osman Samiuddin compares that to the recent international retirements of Nicholas Pooran and Heinrich Klaasen.
2pm Let's do this again then, shall we? There was a lot of anticipation. A lot of excitement. A lot to look forward to on Thursday. But unfortunately, there was a lot of rain too. To put paid to any hopes of cricket, or of a contest.
But a new day brings new hope, and so here we are. Back in Bready, with one eye on the weather and another eye on what has now become a two-match shootout between Ireland and West Indies, both of whom will be at the T20 World Cup next year, and could do with two wins under their belt.
This promises to be fun, so hop on to ESPNcricinfo's live coverage!
