9:59pm: Out walk Usman Khawaja and Sam Konstas, the latter will have more attention on him. Australia have been looking for David Warner's replacement for 18 months now.

9:55am: Time for the anthems, the first one seems to be Grenada's. Australia's follows. We'll finish with West Indies' cricketing anthem. Dickon Mitchell, Grenada's Prime Minister is in attendance as well.

Pitch report from Daren Ganga: There's been no cricket at Grenada in the last 12 months. The grass is more even. It's more even at the River end, but there is some inconsistency at the Darbeau end. Average first innings score is 278, second-innings average score is 80 runs more.

9:50am Presentation on the outfield for Kraigg Braithwaite's 100th Test, Gnasher says.

Joseph: "I don't understand the logic behind persisting with Cam Green at 3 , Beau Webster already gives you the extra bowling option so you might as well bring back a proper No.3 in Labuschagne " Labuschagne's form has dipped for a while, Green is a long-term option. His bowling should be back in a while, if he can do well in the top order, it'll be a big advantage in the long term.

John: "The windies may not mind bowling first with Australia's nervous top order and their own bowling attack."

Roston Chase: Pitch looks decent. I'm happy with the decision, I would have bowled first. We played good cricket for two innings but gave away too many runs in the third. Happy for Brathwaite, this was one of his goals before he played a Test. One change: Anderson Phillip comes in for Jomel Worrican as this is a more seamer-friendly wicket.

Pat Cummins: Might be the best time to bat today. (Lessons for top order) It's rare where you play Tests where every batter does well. Middle order stepped up last game, conditions were tricky. Having Smith back is a huge benefit, he should find a way here despite not having played before.

West Indies: 1 Kraigg Brathwaite, 2 John Campbell, 3 Keacy Carty, 4 Brandon King, 5 Shai Hope (wk), 6 Roston Chase (capt), 7 Justin Greaves, 8 Anderson Phillip, 9 Alzarri Joseph, 10 Shamar Joseph, 11 Jayden Seales

Australia: 1 Usman Khawaja, 2 Sam Konstas, 3 Cameron Green, 4 Steven Smith, 5 Travis Head, 6 Beau Webster, 7 Alex Carey (wk), 8 Pat Cummins (capt), 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Nathan Lyon, 11 Josh Hazlewood

9:35am: Australia have won the toss and will bat first

A reminder for those of you in Australia and New Zealand, every ball of this tour is live on ESPN and Disney+. There will also be morning catch-up clips and highlights across digital channels including ESPN Australia's YouTube, espn.com.au and ESPNcricinfo. While we wait for today's action, have a look back at the best catches from the first Test

9:20am: This will be Kraigg Brathwaite's 100th Test, he could be the last West Indian to do it for a while. He didn't think he'd ever get there, in fact, he never thought he'd play in Tests. Gnasher caught up with him ahead of the Test, check out the interview here.

9:10am: Australia have played just the one Test at Grenada and it was in 2008. West Indies have played just the four, so both teams might find it tough to work out how the conditions will be. This is what the captains had to say about it.

Fitzy4: "Any word on the windies team? Is Big Kev playing?" Not yet

Here's Andrew McGlashan, our correspondent at the ground: Good morning from the National Stadium. Both teams going through their warm-ups, bowlers marking out their run-ups. It's another lovely day, although a few more scattered clouds around. There is a chance of some showers during the game but the local feeling was they wouldn't be too bad. The expectation is that this pitch will be somewhat more docile than Barbados but everyone is still waiting to see how it plays.

Match preview: Smith returns as both sides look for batting lift in Grenada

9am: It should have been a short gap between Tests but a three-day finish in Barbados has allowed West Indies and Australia more rest time, which hopefully should do their batters some good. The conditions in Grenada should be more favourable and the visitors will have the extra incentive of winning the series here. They have already announced their squad. Steven Smith will return to the side after recovering from a finger injury, Josh Inglis is out. West Indies will have to choose between picking an extra pacer going with Warrican. We'll find out their calls at 9:30am at the toss, stay tuned.
