Rain cutting the game short but also giving us a well-fought contest. West Indies' middle order took responsibility to ensure that the final game of their home season will be a decider. See you for that. Thanks for coming by today. Goodbye from me, Ekanth, Danyal, who is on the report too, and our scorers, Vairavan, Chetan and Ranjith.
Shai Hope, WI captain We always speak about partnerships. We just want to get better in every area. Happy with the win today. Seales is a class act, showcased his skills in all formats. Getting the form from Tests in here. Gave us the start we were looking for. Tough surface to bat on, slower than we're accustomed to. Great to see our guys adapt in the middle overs. Credit to Chase and Greaves for sealing the deal. Sherfane, too, gave us impetus.
Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan captain We made 180, thought 200 was possible. Pitch was difficult, there was spin and seam. The way Chase and Rutherford played changed the momentum. (Fifth bowler an issue?) They went for runs but in the last year, Ayub and Salman have bowled well, You want options with the ball. Ayub did well in the T20s but didn't do it today. Happens. The forecast changed today and was unpredictable. We'll have to factor that in during the last game.
Roston Chase, POTM Happy with the win. Had to come in and level the series, so, very pleased. It was difficult to start against spinners. Nawaz was turning it. I knew it'd be easier to score against the pacers towards the end. I loved the shot over extra cover. (Chat with Greaves) When he came in, I told him you have more time than you think and once you're in it's easier to score. I tried to keep it tight with ball, that was my job. Got a wicket, worked out in the end.
Hassan Shah: "What a win by the West Indies! They were clearly the better team today, more balanced, more composed, and simply superior overall. This series may seem even, but Pakistan's usual inconsistency shows again. Heading into the decider, West Indies look far more likely to finish strong."
6:11pm West Indies equal the series, their first win against Pakistan in ODis since 2019. Chase and Greaves ice the chase from a tricky situation after Rutherford's 33-ball 45 turned around a poor start. Rain had cut Pakistan's innings 13 overs short and WI were set 181 off 35 overs. They lost both openers early to Hasan Ali. Carty got stuck and couldn't break through. Abrar nearly had him lbw and then cleaned up his stumps. Rutherford came in, took on Ayub and more importantly Shaheen to bring the rate under five. He fell to Nawaz, who also got Hope and was the pick of the bowlers. Pakistan build pressure again with Chase starting slow. He picked up pace as Abrar and Nawaz headed towards their close. Rizwan brought back Ayub. Chase pounced and found his timing against the pacers too. Greaves offered good support to finish with 10 balls to spare.
Anil sharma : "Chase has chased the target. "
Should be the final over
