8.11pm All hail Phil Salt! On his home ground, he marches through to his fourth T20I hundred, the fastest and highest by an England batter, 141 not out from 60 deliveries. His Lancashire team-mate, Jos Buttler was even more explosive while he lasted, making 83 from 30 balls... and here he is...
Buttler: "300... never thought I'd see that. Salty from the very first ball. Delighted. Fresh wicket, hard wicket, sliding on nicely. Salty is one of the best players of first ball, first over... carried that through the powerplay. It'll be interesting to see how slow Adil bowls with 300 on the board."
Well... my fingers are torched. Namooh says that England have now scored 772 in their last 75 overs against South Africa on this tour, starting with their 414 for 5 in the third ODI. Matt Roller will be here for the chase shortly.
Here are the highest scores in T20I history. England are the third to pass 300, and the first against a senior nation.
ARSALAN: "18 sixes30 fours48 boundaries in total. out of 20 overs, 8 overs were of simply boundaries."
A hush around the ground... what drama!
The fourth-highest men's T20I score... but it's 300 or bust now!
