5.25pm A fascinating innings, with two big centuries and six ducks, four of those courtesy Mohammed Siraj, who, along with Akash Deep were the two best bowlers on display for India on a flat track. England, however, will feel happy to get where they have after they were 84 for 5 after the second over this morning. It was all about Harry Brook and Jamie Smith, whose 303-run stand helped England dominate most of the day so far. Now, the England bowlers will have a shot at the Indian batting lineup today for some late-in-the-day wickets, while India know they have a big shot at winning this contest. We should have the third innings starting very soon.
Here are a few quack-y stats for you:
First time two 150+ scores and five ducks in a Test innings. England vs Pakistan at Lord's in 2010 was the previous most ducks (4) in a Test innings with two 150+ scores.
Only one 400+ total previously in Tests with five ducks - 429 by South Africa vs Bangladesh in 2008.
This is also the first time six England batters got out for a duck in a Test innings. And this is the only 400+ total with six ducks in the innings in Test history.
