3.33pm Excellent display from Australia to adapt to the conditions and ground dimensions after Munsey got off to a bright start. Their use of pace variations was excellent, on a pitch where the ball stopped occasionally, and they made Scotland work really hard for runs by forcing them to hit towards the well-protected square boundaries. Still, Scotland have got to 154, and though Australia look favourites at this stage, the home side have enough of a total on the board for early wickets to create a bit of pressure. Gnasher will be here very soon to bring you the start of the chase.

1b
Abbott to Wheal, 1 bye, slower bouncer wide of off stump, looks to reach out and slash it away, can't make contact. Bounces again before reaching Inglis, and Davidson rushes through to complete the bye before he can flick the ball onto the stumps
19.5
2
Abbott to Wheal, 2 runs, another slower ball, but this is short and into the pitch outside off. Jumps up to get on top of the bounce and play a short-arm jab between deep midwicket and long-on
19.4
2
Abbott to Wheal, 2 runs, full slower ball outside off, stabbed towards deep point
19.3
4
Abbott to Wheal, FOUR, ooh, nearly through him! Well, it did get through his slog, this full ball angling in, but it missed leg stump and ran away for four byes. Or was there an inside edge?

Brad Wheal in at No. 11.

19.2
W
Abbott to Cassell, OUT, slower offcutter wide of off stump, and that delivery has produced a second wicket in as many overs. Cassell looks to hit it over the covers, and ends up slicing it high in the air, to the left of cover, where Marsh completes a nice tumbling catch

C Cassell c Marsh b Abbott 1 (7m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

1
Abbott to Davidson, 1 run, yorker on the base of the stumps, looks to make room and carve it away, can only send it rolling into the backward point region

Abbott to finish things off.

Meredith to Davidson, 1 run, follows him again, but this time with the full ball at the base of leg stump. Squeezed down towards mid-on
18.5
0
Meredith to Davidson, no run, good bouncer, follows Davidson who made an early move to the leg side to try and create room. Has to duck in a hurry to get under it
18.4
1
Meredith to Cassell, 1 run, back of a length on off stump, makes room and dabs to deep third
18.3
1
Meredith to Davidson, 1 run, full on the stumps, makes room and carves towards deep third

Two debutants at the crease now. Davidson in at No. 10.

W
Meredith to Watt, OUT, gone, hits it straight to extra-cover. Full, slanting away from the stumps, and Watt is leaning back, looking to thrash this past or over Stoinis on the edge of the circle, but he doesn't get as much elevation as he wants, or the placement that he wants either side of the fielder

MRJ Watt c Stoinis b Meredith 16 (20m 13b 0x4 1x6) SR: 123.07

18.1
2
Meredith to Watt, 2 runs, full, angling towards middle stump. Gets his front leg out of the way and whips towards deep midwicket, where Green fumbles and allows a second run

Meredith to bowl the 19th. Over the wicket to Watt.

Abbott to Cassell, no run, beaten first ball. Full outside off, past the outside edge as he aims a flashy drive at it

Charlie Cassell walks in on T20I debut.

W
Abbott to Jarvis, OUT, slower offcutter wide of off stump, and that induces the mishit from Jarvis. Was looking to hit that over the covers, probably, but he's through his shot early and ends up spooning it high in the air for Green to catch running in from long-on

J Jarvis c Green b Abbott 10 (12m 8b 0x4 1x6) SR: 125.00

1
Abbott to Watt, 1 run, in the blockhole again, on leg stump from over the wicket. Looks to clip it leg side, and the leading edge rolls into the extra-cover region

Fenton: "I understand not having DRS for this series, but no third umpire for runouts feels really odd."

17.3
1
Abbott to Jarvis, 1 run, yorker on the stumps, makes room and squeezes it into the point region
17.2
1
Abbott to Watt, 1 run, goes short now, angles the bouncer across over Watt's back shoulder. Nicely controls the topspin smash out to deep midwicket
17.1
6
Abbott to Watt, SIX, down the track, and that's absolutely walloped! Abbott looks to angle this one across him and away from his hitting arc, but he doesn't angle it far enough. Ends up offering all the swinging room Watt needs to free his arms and launch it over the sightscreen beyond the straight long-on boundary

Abbott, over the wicket to the left-hander.

Arthur king of : "I like weaker teams really having a go and seeing what happens. Odds are still against you but if you try hang around and score 140 you'll almost certainly lose but have a swing and put pressure back on the bowlers and who knows"

1
Bartlett to Watt, 1 run, in the blockhole, angling across to off stump, opens his bat face and squeezes it to short third. Direct hit at the keeper's end, but it looks like Jarvis has made it in time. No third umpire in any case. Replays show Jarvis was well in.
16.5
1
Bartlett to Jarvis, 1 run, slower ball angling into the pads. Sensed again that Jarvis was looking to move leg-side and make room. Swatted to deep square leg
16.4
1
Bartlett to Watt, 1 run, slower ball on the pads from over the wicket, tucked to deep backward square leg
16.3
