5.35pm Well, that was a statement display from England. It's been a win-toss-win-match series, but Buttler's men are well placed for a win against the head. The Barbados boys, Salt and Bethell were the mainstays with hard-hitting fifties, but Jacks, Buttler and Curran were scarcely less effective in their shorter stays. They were particularly brutal against the spin, with Akeal Hosein's off-day epitomising West Indies' problems. Alzarri Joseph was the pick of a toiling atfack, but didn't have much to write home about in the final analysis.

That said, it's a good ground for chasing, the ball is coming on nicely, and this West Indies team do not die wondering. Buckle up, Alan will be here for the chase shortly.

Zenon: "Another good innings for Bethell, another good innings for 'vibes'."

19.6
W
McCoy to Curran, 1 run, OUT, big heave through the fuller length, out to deep midwicket, back they rush for the second but Curran was slow to turn and is caught short. That will be the joint-highest total in T20Is at St Lucia...

SM Curran run out 24 (23m 13b 0x4 2x6) SR: 184.61

19.5
6
McCoy to Curran, SIX, short, pounded over long-on! Excellent improv from Curran, waiting for the ball to arrive with all the pace taken off, and crunched, tennis-smash-style, from outside off
19.4
1b
McCoy to Bethell, 1 bye, more pace off, another big yahoo across the off-stump line, and they pinch the bye as the keeper gathers
19.3
2
McCoy to Bethell, 2 runs, very wide line, makes contact on a pick-up down the ground, looking to bisect long-on and off, but doesn't have the power to beat the former
19.2
1
McCoy to Curran, 1 run, slapped across the line out to wide long-on, back of a length from McCoy and confounding the attacking intentions
19.1
1
McCoy to Bethell, 1 run, launched very straight, looking to take McCoy down the ground, not perfectly timed as long-off gathers

Right six balls to go... McCoy, presumably, will close it out. Indeed he will

Colin: "Windies are gonna have to go some to break their losing streak against England. If you're gonna bowl first you have to either take wickets or restrict the scoring, but they couldn't quite do either."

18.6
2
Joseph to Curran, 2 runs, very full, into the pads, chipped to deep midwicket. Joseph recovered well from that first-ball six, his figures remain the stand-out
18.5
1lb
Joseph to Bethell, 1 leg bye, yorker length, speared into the pads from over the wicket, scuffed out to point
18.4
1
Joseph to Curran, 1 run, flicked off the full length again, to the on-side

Dunc: "Same old story - win the toss, lose the match by miles. " I think the highest chase here is 192, so it'll be compelling if so!

18.3
1lb
Joseph to Bethell, 1 leg bye, full on the pads, deflected to the leg side
18.2
1
Joseph to Curran, 1 run, flogged down the ground to long-on

charlieJ: "just landed in St Lucia and 3 hours until I fly to Gatwick Trying to persuade my wife we can get an hour of cricket in….." Sounds ideal... captive audiences are the best audiences...

18.1
6
Joseph to Curran, SIX, Curran's turn to display his timing! A missed yorker, and he hit alright! Stepping into the full length, a lusty swing through the line... The 200 is up, just 22 balls after the 150!

6
McCoy to Bethell, SIX, huge slam onto the grass at midwicket! It had been a superb over, but McCoy went pace-off once too often, and this time Bethell was waiting, with a magnificent launch out of the full length! His fifth six, not back for a little'un...
17.5
1
McCoy to Curran, 1 run, more pace off, dragged from back of a length, outside off, to deep midwicket

Ken: "I'm a big Scurran fan, but this would have been perfect opportunity for Joverton to show us his finishing chops" Agreed. That said, he is timing it very well in this series

17.4
1
McCoy to Bethell, 1 run, deep in the crease, back of a length, pace off again, cuffed down the ground for a single to long-on
17.3
0
McCoy to Bethell, no run, pace off, well bowled, another big wind-up but the ball skids past the off stump as McCoy disguises his offcutter
17.3
1w
McCoy to Bethell, 1 wide, outside the tramlines, no stroke offered
17.2
1
McCoy to Curran, 1 run, hits his length, into the pitch, Curran's pull is under-edged out to midwicket
17.1
1
McCoy to Bethell, 1 run, swing he does... but not timed Outside off from McCoy, clattered into the leg-side with a full-blooded hoist, mopped up in the deep

So, three overs to go, and plenty of licence to swing... here's McCoy

jacob: "50 average at this age, (even if its just 6 games) is impressive.."

16.6
0
Chase to Curran, no run, round the wicket, fired into the blockhole, a cramped swing and an under-edge into the off side. Still, a 19-run over, the most expensive of the innings
16.5
1
Chase to Bethell, 1 run, better length this time, dipping on the toes, flicked to the on-side
16.4
6
Chase to Bethell, SIX, three in a row! Steps into the length, driven high and hard over long-off for a super fifty!
16.3
6
Chase to Bethell, SIX, another short ball, another six! Another gleeful swing from a batter who's seeing it wonderfully now. It was a hit-me ball, and he obliged over deep midwicket again!
