12.15pm Well, that was a dramatic meltdown. Two early wickets for Filer were followed by a fluent stand between Wolvaardt and Dercksen that hinted at a big total. But then the spinners got into the mix, in particular Charlie Dean with her hat-trick. Here she is:
Charlie Dean: "I struggled a bit at the start of my spell, a bit of a cross-wind, but managed to get it back. Put a slip in, it started to turn, settled into my spell, grateful that Heather kept me on. The first one skidded on, a bit full but caught the edge. Always fun when you get a slip catch. Second one very strong, hitting the stumps with a bit of turn, too full to go back. Third ball, trying to hit the stumps. Fun today, challenging both edges, and Eccles as usual smashed it out of the park. There'll be movement early on, won't be easy but hope we can cash in."

maddog: "Charlie Dean always goes under the radar because of Sophie Ecclestone, but she has so improved and is a useful lower order batter too, don't you think Andrew?" Very much so... though there's lots of chat about the spin attack in general, to be fair
