Caleb: "I know it is about the team, not individual milestones. But a guy on 98 and he doesn't face a delivery in the last 9 balls of the innings, that is so unfortunate!"

Pakistan lit up SuperSport Park with a fabulous batting performance led by the swashbuckling southpaw Saim Ayub, who has hit his stride, batting with great confidence and swagger. He thoroughly deserved a hundred but was left stranded at the non-striker's end, which makes you feel for the youngster. Ayub got a reprieve early on but looked unblemished for the most part, dishing out severe punishment to South Africa's inexperienced bowling attack. Later, Irfan Niazi joined Saim Ayub and played a perfect supporting role, accelerating towards the end. Together, they piled misery on the hosts. This is a massive total and will require the elder statesmen to take responsibility. It promises to be a fascinating second half. Stay tuned!

waqar : "Feeling sad! for Saim Ayub...He played such a brilliant innings but missed a century."

Baartman to Abbas Afridi, 1 run, Pace-off slightly shortish delivery almost hugging the marker on off, mistimed across the line to the leg side and they gallop for a run. It's been a wonderful knock by Saim Ayub who didn't drop his intensity and deserved a hundred for sure. Such a sublime knock; singlehandedly carried the innings through to the final over and regaled the crowd with many glorious shots

Baartman to Abbas Afridi, FOUR, Slightly short and arcing away outside off, swats it and gets a thick outside edge and the ball skittles away to the rope at third man, Saim won't get to his hundred and that is quite unfortunate, he really wanted to get to the strike but the ball carries away to the rope

Arslan: "Saim would b regretting his single in the 19th over.. kept watching from the other end… poor fellow - no maiden t20i century for him"

Baartman to Abbas Afridi, SIX, Hello? Get time to set? No, thank you. Juicy half-volley on middle, he gets right behind the line and biffs it with aplomb over long-on for a six, such a clean hit, in his strong zone

Baartman to Irfan Khan, OUT, Taken this time, some relief for South Arica but he has done his part and inflicted plenty of damage. Cross-seam delivery shaping in at middle and leg, not much oomph behind that shot and safely taken by van der Dudden near the rope at deep midwicket.

Baartman to Irfan Khan, FOUR, Perfect start to the last over for Pakistan. Low full-toss on middle, Irfan showing his full-range, keeps his composure and pouncing on South Africa's inexperienced bowling attack, gets down low and scoops it away to fine leg boundary like it's nothing

Ferreira to Irfan Khan, 1 run, Acrobatic stuff at fine leg saves a few runs, rolled his wrists and helped away behind square on the leg but that was terrific fielding. Nevertheless, a costly over for South Africa. So many extras as well

Ferreira to Irfan Khan, FOUR, It's raining boundaries, full on the pads again, easy pickings, bowling to his strengths and he thumps it away to square of midwicket for a four

Ferreira to Irfan Khan, SIX, Got underneath that one and smokes it over midwicket for a flat six, full-toss, that's a poor delivery and duly dispatched. Inexperience showing
