Elsewhere, Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee became India's first ever women's doubles team to medal at Asian Games. Fuelled by one of the great upsets in India's sporting history, it had redefined the word impossible.
10:36am India end up with 202, largely thanks to a sublime ton by Jaiswal. He seemed to be batting on a different pitch altogether, accessing both sides and making the bowlers look very ordinary. At the other end, though, almost everyone struggled to find their rhythm as the ball gripped, held and also spun. Towards the end, Rinku added the impetus India were missing in the middle overs, helping them get past the 200-run mark, with Dube giving him good company.
Nepal will feel they conceded too many right at the end (64 runs off the last five overs, to be precise), and they now have a mountain to climb. Airee was the pick of their bowlers but the others came in for rough treatment, especially against Jaiswal. In both matches they have played so far, they have scored more than the 203 they need to get today. But will they be able to replicate those heroics against a strong India bowling unit? Join us for the run-chase in a bit!
