And for now, that's it. It was a delight to have you guys here, and we appreciate your attendance. Do join the second T20I in ZACS, Chattogram on May 5 at the same time. Take care and stay hydrated in these conditions. Until then, this is Rashad signing off on behalf of Raghav and the rest of the team.
Najmul Hossain Shanto: I think the last couple of days we trained really hard. The way Tanzid batted really helped our team and I hope he will continue his form. (Rain disrupt) It is difficult but we can't control those things but we can control our processes that's why we try. (Hridoy) He batted really well and showed his character on this wicket. Especially I am very happy for Tamim because he finished the innings."
Taskin Ahmed is the Player of the Match: "Firstly we had a great win today and had a great start with the bowling. We have done the basics well that's why we got the reward. Everyone trained really hard last few weeks and are getting those results. (Support from other bowlers) Each and everyone is working hard to improve themselves. Giving 110% in the training. We had a good match today and we are looking forward to do well in the future as well."
Sikandar Raza: "I think it is a responsibility for everyone as much as the senior guys would take the blame put our hands up that we got it wrong. The beauty of this team is when we get it right we get it right and everybody do their part but unfortunately today there was a lot of guys missing. Majority of the senior guys on whom the batting relies on unfortunately could not come to the party. But we take those harsh lessons and it's just one game. We are not really proud of the fact that we don't start our tours well but In Sha Allah we will try and make things right then come back better. (Madande and Masakadza) They really did well. We take a lot of pride in still playing the aggressive brand of cricket and I think they did it most part of the innings. Unfortunately we let them play that role which is originally the middle and top order's role. Again a lot of wrongs happened on the start and middle of the order. In Sha Allah we will get there and they will do better for Zimbabwe. (On the depth of the team) We are batting up to 8 now, Jongwe at 8. There are lots of good performances these 8 batters have done in the past. All we need is maybe 4 or 5 guys every game to have that good partnership and good runs on the belt so we can end up on 180-190. (Fielding) We got floodlights on Harare Sporting Club so we need to do practice under the lights. We need to get used to play under the lights but unfortunately we don't get much opportunity to do that. Unfortunately those 3 dropped catches hurt us a lot. Probably things would have been different. It's always the ifs and buts coming in to play with us but I am confident that once we get it right we can beat any team on the day."
Presentation Ceremony:
imtiaz: "Bangladesh team management should focus on how they have preparing for T20 world cup. last time they prepare sluggish pitch and invite NZ and Aus. this time sporting pitch with Zimbabwe. this would do no good in actual tournament."
In contrast, Zimbabwe appeared incredibly sloppy and unconfident in the second innings. Litton Das's wicket was their lone success, but other than that, Tanzid Tamim was the star of the show. Few catches were dropped by the fielders, and misfields were frequent. When facing Bangladeshi batters, the bowlers had difficulties finding their line and lengths.
The match was won in style by Tanzid Tamim, who scored his first T20I fifty, and Towhid Hridoy, who had a rapid innings following the Tigers' impressive bowling show. Despite being dropped three times by the Zimbabwean fielders, Tanzid continued to play brilliantly and remained unbeaten. The rain caused a few disruptions, but Bangladesh was always in control of the match.
Bangladesh won the match by 8 wickets.
Ahnaf: "This stint in the last few overs is better, but that still needs to be taken with the context that Tanzid Tamim was dropped three times. There has to be a way out where we don't suffer miserably in the opening overs to have any chance."
