3.45pm So ends England's first innings, in quick time too, with a deficit of 204 runs. Matt Henry sounded the warning by picking up England's openers then Will O'Rourke blew the innings open with his three wickets in eight overs after lunch and the introduction of Mitchell Santner's spin proved to be a masterstroke.

Henry ended up with 4 for 48, O'Rourke 3-33 and Santner a stunning 3 for 7! No England batter could top Joe Root's 32 which makes for sorry reading of their scorecard.

Muhammad Ishtia: "what has happened to English batting last when I saw it was 70/2 and now 143 all out all of a sudden "... In short, Will O'Rourke and Mitchell Santner happened.

Brendon: "WOW what a turn around by our Blackcaps considering the last few weeks and it's lovely to see and lets hope we build a massive lead and go at England again..."

Incidentally, amid all that excitement, they're taking tea. Alan will be back in a bit.
