Well, that all ended in a bit of a rush. Last three wickets falling for one run. New Zealand had a 300-run lead in their sights, but will have to defend 278 now. Australia stuck to their task on a pitch flattening out. Pat Cummins the best. Josh Hazlewood also very good again. Some excellent batting from the home side but someone, ideally, needed to convert into a century. Still, they have something to work with. Will be a good challenge for a slightly iffy Australia top order.
Nikhil: "This slide started with 'here comes Lyon with zero wickets'" What are you suggesting, Nikhil. Surely not the j word!
Julian: "That's a disappointing conclusion to NZ's innings. They worked very hard to set up a formidable target, only to fold after tea and leave Aus chasing something very gettable. That said, a few early wickets and the pendulum will swing again..."
Dhonz: "Cracking game here. 4th innings chases are never easy. Two early wickets and the stomachs will be in knots in the Aussie camp. Mouthwatering prospect. Test cricket you beauty!"
