8.21pm A satisfactory evening for England in the field. Excellent spells from Archer and Wood, and wickets all across the board, including two for Rashid, and two for Liam Livingstone. Here he is:

"Really enjoyed bowling with Mo and Rash, bowling off and legspin, work with them away from the games and use them in the matches. We bowled really well. The quick boys were quick and the spinners got something out of the surface. Hopefully we chase them down. I love coming back to England because Motty and Jos rate my bowling. I enjoy it and work hard at it. Hope to contribute in all three facets of the game, and go to the World Cup and try to win it."

Plenty to ponder for Pakistan meanwhile. It looked solid enough while Babar and Rizwan were accelerating through the powerplay, but their departures in consecutive overs exposed a middle-order that has plenty of questions hanging over it, with days to go until the main event.

Alan will be here for the chase shortly.

Archer to Haris Rauf, 1 run, OUT, wide line, hacked up in the air, deep third can't get there, but his shy can! In comes the throw from Livingstone as they turn back for two. Miles short, and Pakistan's innings ends with a ball to spare

Haris Rauf run out 8 (5m 7b 1x4 0x6) SR: 114.28

Archer to Haris Rauf, FOUR, panned through long-on! That's an excellent bit of tail-end lumping. Stayed deep in the crease, made room to leg, swung lustily through the line

Harris: "From 59/1 to 149/9 Pakistan cricket at its best. One minute up next minute down, next minute also down and they're staying down..."

Lovely evening's work from Wood. Serious pace, good control, and a brace of wickets. His first outing of the season is a good one

Wood to Naseem Shah, OUT, banged in again, spliced to Buttler! That's the riposte. Naseem was turned inside-out by the cramping angle into his body. A leading edge as his bat came across the line and Pakistan are nine-down

Naseem Shah c †Buttler b Wood 16 (18m 18b 1x4 1x6) SR: 88.88

Mark: "At least Pakistan can console themselves that Nat Sciver-Brunt isn't playing today." I see what you did there

Wood to Naseem Shah, no run, length ball, good heat, a swing and a miss. That's probably the spot to bowl to the tail-enders. No need to mix it up, just serve rockets!

W
Jordan to Iftikhar Ahmed, OUT, sails high into the evening sky! A massive wind-up from Iftikhar, but Jordan has taken all the pace off the ball. The bat speed results in a steepling chance to Brook at wide long-on who makes no mistake
