Mark Wood is named Player of the Match after his scintillating second-innings five-for tipped the balance: [Five-for after no luck in Nottingham] "Bit of a relief. At lunchtime I was down and frustrated, but I focused on the skills side of thing, the first wicket got me in the game, gave a lot of confidence and I went from there. I think you have to adapt to the conditions. My role in the team is to bowl fast. Hopefully I can do that for the rest of the summer. [Highlights] Watched it twice, might watch it a couple more times. [Anderson chat] Was a bit down, not getting the outcome I wanted and he wanted me to focus on the skill rather than the outcome. That changed my mindset a little bit. [Getting loads up after T20WC] Hard and boring, bowling in the net by yourself. But this is the reward back amongst the lads. Everyone wants to do well and I'm glad to be part of the team. Every time you play for England it's special. Back to back Tests, I managed to keep my speeds up, so that's pleasing. Body feels good."

Gus Atkinson is England Player of the Series: "To take 22 wickets is fantastic, didn't come in with expectations. [Anderson farewell at Lord's] Very special week, seems ages ago. All a bit of a blur but an incredible week. Run in hard and hit the pitch hard, that's all I tried to do. Learned quite a bit, trying to swing the ball, use the crease, things like that. It's fantastic, love bowling with Woody, he talks you through things. Watching him there today was special. 100% great fun, series I won't be forgetting, looking forward to future."

Jayden Seales is West Indies Player of the Series: "Proud of being able to represent West Indies, coming back and doing well for the team is rewarding, just looking to improve going forward. [Sussex] Was great to come across and understand the conditions, how they can help me. [England attacking approach] Was tough at times, they take opportunities to score if you give them a chance. Had to be on it all the time. [WI attack coming together] I think once we grow and learn, we can be a force to be reckoned with. Body is not too bad, trying to get some recovery in and looking forward to the [South Africa] series at home."

West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite: [First innings below par] "For sure, looking back, wasn't enough runs. Was a better pitch than 280 but we showed good discipline. [Root lbw] That was a big moment. The communication wasn't there but tough to take. We weren't as disciplined with the ball as we should have been, to put a batting team under pressure for long periods. We have to improve on that. We weren't as consistent as we needed to be, didn't hit the top-of-off area long enough. You give the batsmen momentum. We need to get back to where we were in Australia, hitting the top of off. [Proud of?] We never gave up, always came back and fight. Kavem Hodge got his hundred, we got first-innings totals. Jayden took wickets, Motie as well. We need more cricket, playing against good players, you will improve. So I'm excited for the series against South Africa, we've got to have the right attitude and consistency. Feel good, looking forward to [SA Tests], because we have to see growth and improvement. Hit the top of off, stayed committed with the bat. Then we'll see improvements."

Ben Stokes: [Wood] "Amazing spell, the rewards he got there were later than he deserved to get them. The effort is phenomenal, he's got the heart of a lion and it's exactly what you want as a captain, fast extremely skillful and he blew the game open. Woody knows how much he affects the game from the other end, bowling as fast as he does. He puts pressure on, it might be the other bloke who gets the wickets. That spell this afternoon, it looks like he was going to take a wicket every ball. Showed exactly why we want him in the team as much as possible. The skill and X-factor he has. [Opening] To keep everyone in same position, wasn't too many runs to knock off. [Fastest fifty record] Bottle of champagne would be appreciated. Colly is the one who checks the records, pretty chuffed to go past Beefy. [Atkinson and Smith] What a first series for those two. Gus's debut couldn't have gone better, but from there's improved. This week, slower wicket but the ball started reversing. Great to throw the ball to two fast men. Jamie Smith has grown into the No7 role without any experience, so really happy with them. We were 50 for 5, 18 months ago we might have responded in a one-dimensional way. Now everyone knows what's expected of them, play their way and make smart choices, put pressure back on. To come back from there and win in three days is exceptional. Very good to win, we walk out every time wanting to win. We focus on process and what will give us the best chance. But when we wear this shirt we give absolutely everything to win the game."

3.24pm 7.2 overs. That's all it took Stokes and Duckett to raze down this target. A symbolic win for Bazball, and a 3-0 series scoreline too. So many positives for England, not least the discovery of Gus Atkinson, the highest wicket-taker in the series, and the extra dollop of pace Mark Wood seems to have gained, all coming on the back of James Anderson's retirement. The future of England's bowling seems to be in safe hands. They've been excellent with bat too, with Root and Brook particularly prolific. But even though they've been whitewashed, there are positives for West Indies as well. They're a young team with a lot of promise, particularly in the bowling department, and it's crucial that the wise heads there measure this result against sensible expectations, and continue to invest in the players they've identified as future stars.
