1.02pm: Well, well. A fine comeback from Sri Lanka this morning - but is it a case of, "Here's what you could of won"? England slumped from 221 for 3 overnight to 325 all out in swinging conditions; Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope were the only two batters to cross 20, but they made sure their innings counted by scoring more than two thirds of the total. Sri Lanka's four-man seam attack shared eight wickets between them. Can the batters dig in and post something competitive? Don't go anywhere

Here's Phil: "So a collapse of 64/7. Ah Sri Lanka: had you bowled more a bit more consistently, and had fielders in the right place to back it up, you might have done that from the off yesterday."

Rathnayake to Shoaib Bashir, OUT, make that 6 for 37, as Bashir flubs to mid-off! Rathnayake wraps things up with his first ball back and the England collapse is complete. So terminal was their tailspin, that Sri Lanka's openers will have to buckle up and face an over before lunch!

Milan Rathnayake returns. England have lost 5 for 37 since the drinks break

AM Fernando to Hull, OUT, banged in, spliced to square leg! The plan comes together for SL and Hull's maiden Test innings is as short as he is tall. Asitha is a fast bowler right at the opposite end of the height spectrum, and he probably only got this up around Hull's hip - but he wasn't in control as he paddled leg side and picked out the fielder for a simple catch

Three men out on the hook here. Chin music for the new boy?

"Are England assuming rain and playing to the weather? If so, yet another Baz innovation." The forecast is a bit patchy, Alan. But I think this England usually work to tee times rather than weather reports
