Kuldeep bowled well enough to show that there is enough on the surface for spinners, if they bowl in right areas and at the right pace. It was vindicated by Chahal's last over as well as Axar, who went for one expensive over at the start. Mukesh and Arshdeep once again bowled well at the death but the latter returned expensive figures. Despite regular strikes from India, West Indies have got to 178 thanks to Hope first and then Hetmyer. Hope, playing his first match in the series, got going from get go and was unfortunate to fall short of his fifty. But Hetmyer ensured he got his second successive half-century at this venue and that meant, India could never relax in spite of some good overs from Arshdeep and Kuldeep.
