Huge piece of news coming in from across the pond at The Ashes: Stuart Broad will retire from cricket after the Ashes Test. We'll take a collective gasp and be back for the chase. Stay tuned.
Romario Shepherd: More intent. I ran in hard and hit the wicket, that was my plan - to not get too full. When I came in, I got the wicket and that set the tone. We squeezed them and got another wicket which put them under pressure. I can fit any role, currently I bowl first change. I did that role and am happy. The pitch hasn't changed too much. Less grass makes it a bit slow. We are confident but know it's challenging. I have faith in our batters to chase this down.
1:43pm: In the absence of Rohit and Kohli, Gill and Kishan gave India a good start. But Shepherd and Alzarri's fiery wicket-taking spells as well as Motie's skillful three-for helped West Indies reduce India from 90 for no loss to 181 all out. There were two rain breaks in the middle but no overs were lost. In the end, India batted for just under 41 overs of their allotted 50. The pitch has offered some assistance to the bowlers, there's been turn and the bouncers have risen nastily at times. Kishan and Gill rode past the early jitters and were cruising along. But Motie enticed a false shot from Gill. Athanaze took a brilliant catch at backward to send Kishan back. Axar, Hardik and Jadeja got out to the bouncer. The lower middle order did chip in for India. The last five wickets got 68 runs but they are a few short despite the pitch playing the odd trick.
