7:50pm So, New Zealand have huffed and puffed their way to 142, which was largely down to Chapman's efforts. He held the innings together and has now ensured that the Kiwi bowlers have something to bowl at. The other batters, though, found it tough to get going and that should give the visitors hope. 142 might not seem a lot but on this surface, they will believe they have more than a chance.

Funnily enough, UAE will also be happy, having restricted the Black Caps to 142. Aayan was the star of the show, picking up three wickets. Jawadullah, battling a bout of cramp, also did well, both at the start and at the death. Naseer and Zahoor were a touch expensive but they did not allow the Black Caps to get up to 150, which will certainly be a positive.

UAE will believe they can knock this total off. NZ will believe they can defend this. A cracking run-chase awaits, join us in a bit for that!

Aayan Afzal Khan: (On how he is feeling) I am feeling very happy. I got a chance in the powerplay and I got a wicket. I was trying to get the batters out. (On which wicket he enjoyed the most) The first one because that was my main ball - it came in. (On the pitch) It was moving a bit at the start. Now, it is hot so maybe it will be easier to bat. Hopefully we can chase it down in 18 overs or so. (On his feedback to the batters) Just to keep it easy. Go big in the powerplay.

Zahoor Khan to Southee, 2 runs, another slower delivery dug into the track outside off. Southee might as well have had some breakfast and tea before playing that one. When the ball arrives, he stabs it into the off side. Tries to come back for the second and just about makes his ground

Zahoor Khan to Southee, 2 runs, slow and short outside off. Southee plays three strokes at it before finally making contact with his fourth attempt and drop-kicking it into the leg side. Gets a couple

Southee strides out. Can he find the fence in the two balls that remain?

Zahoor Khan to Chapman, OUT, taken brilliantly at long on! In the slot on middle and leg stump. Chapman gets his front foot out of the way and has a massive swing at it. Mistimes it, though, and he slices it towards long on. The fielder runs to his left, dives forward and completes a smart catch!

Zahoor Khan to Chapman, no run, yorker outside off. Chapman flashes his blade at it but is slightly late on the stroke as the ball squirms past the flailing blade

Backward point.. extra cover, third man and fine leg in the circle

Zahoor is bowling around the wicket to Chapman, by the way, like he has done throughout this innings

Zahoor Khan to Chapman, 2 runs, low full toss outside off. Chapman crouches down low and sweeps it towards deep mid wicket. The shout is for the throw to go to the keeper's end but Tandon throws to the other end. Comfortable brace in the end

Zahoor Khan to Jamieson, 1 run, slow and short outside off. Jamieson swings way too early and clinks it down to long on

Zahoor will bowl the final over. Can he keep NZ down to a sub-140 score?

Zubair Islam : "UAE is gifting runs ... first bowling no ball then letting them run a single to give strike to Chapman then letting him run three to keep strike" -- Agree, that was not the greatest sequence of cricket UAE will ever produce.

Right. NZ have 126 on the board already. Can they get up to 150? That could be a very good score on this surface. Here is Naseer to bowl the penultimate over

Muhammad Jawadullah to Jamieson, (no ball) 1 run, oh dear! Chest-high full toss on leg stump. Jamieson does well to fend it into the leg side. Jamieson seems to have hurt his right hand in the process and his bat flips out of his hand. In that time, Chapman is standing next to him and Jamieson has to hare across for the single. Naseer misses his shy at the stumps and the fielder backing up also misses. Jamieson eventually survives

Jamieson is the new batter in

Muhammad Jawadullah to Ravindra, OUT, huge appeal, and given! Full and hurtled into middle and off. Ravindra walks across his stumps, trying to tickle it fine past the keeper. Plays all over it, though, and gets pinned on the back pad. The umpire has a think about it before raising his finger! Unless Ravindra hit it, that looked pretty adjacent!

Ali Naseer to Neesham, OUT, holes out to long on! Full and speared into leg stump. Neesham gives himself a bit of room, trying to go over long on. The ball, though, is just full enough to prevent him from getting the requisite elevation. Arrows it straight down long on's throat in the end! The umpires did check for a No ball but Naseer had something behind the line!
