9:53pm Australia cannot lose the multi-format series, thanks to an unassailable 8-4 lead. A clinical performance yet again. King hastened South Africa's end after the rain break and she was almost on a hat-trick. McGrath showed her wares with the ball and the tourists found no escape route. This was after Healy and Mooney scored fantastic fifties to set up a tall total.
Tahlia McGrath, Player of the Match: "To bounce back from the other end, really happy to finish the job. We have been scratching our brains how to get Kapp out, and it was a half-tracker! We are looking for the Test, WACA is a beautiful place to play."
Laura Wolvaardt, South Africa captain: "Decent first half of the game, but lost a lot of wickets in the powerplay. We had an awesome opportunity to do something special, but did not well with the bat."
Alyssa Healy, Australia captain: "We played well, that was a good bounce back. It was not easy. There is smile on my face now, earlier there was a grimace. The wicket was conducive to seam the whole game. We are excited to get to WACA. Been a while. Haven't played South Africa in a Test. Ample to choose from, tough couple of days. Both teams are going there to win the Test, we don't want a draw."
Australia take the ODI series 2-1, like they did the T20Is. The one-off Test match is at the WACA next week. Do join us for the coverage. Hope you enjoyed it today. Keep an eye out for Gnasher's report and reactions. Till the next time, on behalf of Venkat and Ashish, I bid you goodbye! Ciao aficionados!
