Australia celebrate with the trophy. South Africa should be proud of their efforts across the series, claiming their first wins against Australia in both ODI and T20I cricket. Their lack of Test exposure was clear but they showed some fight. In the end, this was Annabel Sutherland's Test. She has starting on a path that may take her past her idol Ellyse Perry in Test cricket if she continues this form over the next decade. Thanks for your company from Perth. We hope you enjoyed our coverage.
4.41pm Presentation
Alyssa Healy: "I'm very proud. It's been an amazing series. The white-ball series was really hard fought at times and we were really tested but the way we continued to bounce back right throughout was really impressive and to come here to the WACA and finish like we did really caps off the Aussie summer for us which is cool. We've got a trip to Bangladesh after the WPL and that's huge leading into a T20 World Cup at the back end of this year. Two World Cups in the space of 18 months is huge for our squad and throw in an Ashes series in between. It's a really big busy time for our group but I've never seen this group more hungry to play cricket and more excited to challenge themselves. Hopefully we can have some success."
Laura Wolvaardt: "All credit goes to Australia in this last red-ball game. We were outplayed in all facets of the game. But a great experience for us and we thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity. Getting to play a Test was really special at this iconic venue as well. It's something were hoping to learn more about and play more in the future. I personally would love to play more. I think all the girls really enjoyed the challenge even though we were out there for quite awhile. It was a great experience and we'd love to do more of it."
Player of the match is Annabel Sutherland: "It was a lot of fun out there. A beautiful place to bat. There's not much more to it other than I love batting with my mates up the other end. It was great to bat with Ash and Midge as well. It's a pretty good place to be. The white-ball series, credit to South Africa, you guys really challenged us. We fought hard particularly in the third games of both series. Nice to have mum and dad here and a fair few family and friends have come across as well."
Player of the series is Beth Mooney: "These series are the ones we look forward to, the multiformat series. It tests all skills of the game and is really exciting. I just enjoy being out there batting, playing for different teams. I work pretty closely back home with Shel Nitschke in Brisbane. I didn't have the best series in India so I came home and worked hard and made sure I was right to go for this series."
Ellyse Perry on Fox: "So, so special [from Annabel]. One for the ages really. Just shows her class. It's hard to believe she's just 22 years old the way that she bats out there with so much composure and belief in her own game. Her innings was special but equally she contributed with the ball."
4.28pm Australia win by an innings and 284 runs. They thoroughly outclassed South Africa. Australia win the multiformat series on points 12-4. Annabel Sutherland is the first player in women's Test history to make 200 runs and take five wickets in a match. A truly staggering individual performance from the 22-year-old. Darcie Brown took seven wickets for the match while Healy and Mooney deserve credit for their partnership on day one after Brown and Sutherland took eight between them to bowl South Africa out for just 76.
Hypocaust: "Annabel Sutherland is the first woman, and fourth player in the history of Test cricket, to both score double century and take five or more wickets in the same match (the three men to have done so are Denis Atkinson WI, Ted Dexter ENG and Mushtaq Mohammad PAK)."
Steve: "5 for and a double ton for Annabel. That'd be good enough to win the weekly MVP pizza voucher at my cricket club. "
David: "SA 31 overs 1st innings, almost 100 overs 2nd innings. That was important, not meaningless." Tucker and Tryon batted very well.
