5:46pm That will be all from us for this game. The men's game should kick off in under an hour, and you can follow it live here. Until next time, from all of us here at ESPNcricinfo, it is goodbye!
Jess Jonassen, Player of the Match: (On her all-round outing) Not too bad, to be fair. Got a bit of luck with the bat, muscled a few. Happy that we finally got some points on the board. (On hitting four sixes in a five-ball set) Can't say I would be the top of that list (smiles). Had the match-up in my favour and wanted to take the game on. Came off, does not matter how far over the rope they go (smiles). Super pleased we were able to get the job done. (On her bowling plans) I think it was a mixture of both (good lines and lengths, and mixing pace up). You have to nail our length, top of the stumps. One of those wickets, you never felt like you were in. Hard to time, unless it was a half-volley. Kind of making sure you really kept the stumps in play with changes of pace. We have been searching for it (first win) all season. Nice to see things click. We have been letting ourselves down with the bat. Nice we got a win, with some things still to improve upon. Nice to go back to Cardiff with a win today.
5:40pm A fairly commanding win for the Fire. Their batters set it up, and Ismail shone with the new ball to dent the hosts. She bagged Lamb and Kelly early, and that pegged the Phoenix back. There was a sound partnership thereafter between Voll and Perry, with Birmingham, for a while, even threatening a record-breaking heist.
That is when Jonassen came to the party, though, removing Voll and Jones off consecutive balls. Perry kept fighting and kept waging a lone battle. She also registered her first half-century of the season but it always felt like she was playing catch-up, and so it ultimately proved to be.
