Brave are now on top of the points table but Fire put in a spirited performance. Let's hope that trend with the male counterparts of both these teams taking on each other. Brave have won the toss and will bowl. Here's Shashwat's coverage of the game. Buh-bye from here.
6,516 - A record attendance for a women's game in The Hundred at Sophia Gardens.
One of the key moments in the chase came early when Mandhana went across and got hit on the pad after missing the pull. A subdued lbw appeal was not upheld and Fire didn't review. Hawk-Eye said it was going on to hit leg stump. After that, she joined hands with Bouchier and the duo cleared the infield with skill and consistency to keep Brave ahead. Dunkley's quiet sets created wickets. Fire were, well, fire in the field. But Adams' day dawned over Dunkley's day, and the chaos in the end worked in Brave's favour with the four byes. The desperate, stolen singles off the last two balls were timely and took Brave over the line. In the end, only three of the ten batters needed to get to double-digit scores, the invaluable ten from the extras took it away.
Georgia Adams, POTM: I'm on an adrenaline come-down. We've had a few nail-biters. Great to get over the line like that. I try to bowl at the stumps and not turn it much, that's the plan and it worked. We clawed them back well at the end. It's about time I turned up with the bat this tournament. When Smriti and Bouchier set it up like that, you know you don't have to go big from ball one. Great to get runs and take the team over the line. It's a small-margin tournament. Great win, gives momentum as we head home next week which will be nice.
5:35pm: Holy hell, what a finish! All-action last-two sets in the end. Adams' six before her 24-ball 40 ended and the four byes in the end cost Fire. Brave had Mandhana, Bouchier get off to a great start after Wyatt went early. Adams chipped in with both bat and ball and ended Welsh Fire's unbeaten run.
Brave can't lose. No Super Over/Set. Ring field in. Midwicket, mid-on in close to get close to the stumps. One of Bryce's gloves is off
