5.28 pm The Rockets corner has thrown in the towel. Stop the fight! Stop the fight! Pummeled into submission by the Southern Brave, who maintain an undefeated record and have now officially clinched a playoff berth. Lauren Bell and Amanda-Jade Wellington set up the win by tying down the Rockets batting unit with seven wickets between them and then Mandhana and Wyatt combine with a ruthless partnership, ending the match with 44 balls to spare. Trent Rockets now sit two points behind Oval Invincibles and Birmingham Phoenix, though those two teams have a match in hand.
The Match Hero is Lauren Bell: "I'm really happy with how the match went. It was a good team win. It was good to win the toss and good conditions to bowl in but our batters showed it was also a good batting wicket. The goal for me was to take two wickets in the Powerplay. Wello has done a good job for us in the middle of these games. We assessed the conditions and realized pace off the ball was the way to go. We just want to keep pushing through to the final."
That's it for coverage from the women's game. On behalf of my commentary partner Deiva Muthu, I'm Peter Della Penna. Stay tuned for the start of the men's half of the doubleheader in just under 90 minutes time where I'll be on the call with Alan Gardner. Until then, take care!
