Today's double-header had a close game first up and a relatively one-sided game following it. On both instances, the score seemed to be short but the batting teams found ways to lose wickets, and in this game, Anya Shrubsole's savviness was out on display. That's it from the Women's comp, the men's sides of these two franchises take on each other. It's starting soon and you can follow that here. Signing off is me, Ekanth, on behalf of my fellow commentator S Sudarshanan, and our scorers: Binoy and Thilak.
Georgia Adams: We've come a long way, it was an accident. Anya said she wanted me to bowl, the wicket spun. We bowled straight and it came off. I did not expect to bowl in key moments, the ball to Lauren was one of the best. I'll take it. I know a lot of girls from the Southern Vipers days and am fitting in like a dream.
Brave realised that the pitch offered little to no pace. Shrubsole gave part-timers overs. Wyatt and Dunkley were successful. Adams was so good she gets the POTM award. Lauren and the skipper Anya, herself, were good too. So, no short of positives for them.
5:20 pm: Macdonald-Gay has hit three sixes which salvages Invincibles' net run rate. But this has been a comprehensive win for Brave. It was a good track when this innings began. Winfield-Hill and Bates started well but could not continue, nor could Cranstone or Kapp. They lost regular wickets in the middle overs and never got close in the end.
Final set, McGrath given the responsibility.
