Cordelia Griffith: "Really happy to put on a little bit for the girls. And hopefully that's defendable. We had some good partnerships out there. So it's really good to get a good score on the board, and then hopefully we can defend that now. It's a good wicket. They produced really good ones this year. So hopefully it's fine to defend. If we get the ball in the right areas and use our slowies and stuff, I think we'll be good. I think it's just producing our best with the ball and backing it up in the field, like we've been on a really good run in the field, so I think if we do that again, we're good."
3:43 pm The Spirit's innings got off to a disastrous start as they lost Chathli in the very first set. Things went from bad to worse when Villiers struck twice in the seventh set, removing both Redmayne and the dangerous Grace Harris. However, the Spirit found a lifeline when Bouchier dropped Griffith on 11, a missed catch that would prove costly. Griffith quickly made the Brave pay, freeing her arms to smash 19 runs in Villiers' third set and setting the tempo. Griffith and Charli Knott then built an excellent 67-run partnership in the middle overs, taking the Spirit to a decent total. She finished with a solid 44 runs off 34 balls, while Knott contributed 36 off 26. A late collapse after the departure of both set batters forced the London Spirit to settle for an under-par score. The Brave bowlers deserve immense credit for a brilliant comeback, especially in the final five sets, where they took key wickets and dried up the runs. Villiers was the star, picking up three wickets, while Tryon, Adams, and Bell each claimed one.
