12:09pm An innings dominated and spearheaded by Dottin. She got 51 of the 117 Original managed, and those runs came off just 24 balls, and when her side had been reduced to 58-4. She timed the ball excellently and her power was on display throughout, as she kept clearing the fence. The others found it tougher, and that was emphasized by Kerr and Smale not finding their rhythm, despite spending time at the crease.
The Superchargers, at the toss, would have probably taken this score. They bowled with control for most parts, and used the conditions on offer brilliantly, even if Dottin took them apart towards the end. They will be fancying their chances in this run-chase, although the Originals, because of Dottin, will reckon they have something to play with too. Join us in a bit for the second innings!
Kate Cross: To get some wickets up front, especially Mooney and Bryce, good to see the back of them early. (On getting a wicket off her first ball) Just gives you a bit of confidence if you hit the right areas up front. Deandra showed at the back end that it is still a decent pitch. When DD can hit sixes like that, it feels easier. But we saw that cutters (and yorkers) were working for us. (On plans for the chase) Just smart batting. She (Litchfield) batted superbly at Headingley. Bellsy (Sutherland) has not had the opportunity that she would have liked. With Carey, we have depth as well.
