DaWolf: "Below average total. But there have already been 4 poor-average totals defended this year (141, 148, 139 and 122). Can Phoenix chase better?" -- Don't think this is a below-average total. Yes, the Brave will be disappointed to have not gotten to 150, but reckon this is a par score on a surface where the ball has held up at times.
12:14pm The Phoenix will be happy with how that last quarter of the innings transpired. At one stage, it felt they would be chasing 150 but they have done brilliantly to ensure the Brave could only manage 139. Their spinners, like they did the other day, kept things tight, although Schutt picking up two in her final set was probably where the momentum swung. Arlott then capped off a nice death-bowling display with a two-wicket burst of her own.
The Brave will probably have wanted to get close to 150, but they still have runs on the board. Wyatt-Hodge kept the innings together, with Wolvaardt and Devine supporting her at different times. The latter struggled for rhythm, though, and that could be a sign of the pitch being slightly more sluggish than expected. Either way, we have a cracking run-chase in front of us. Join us in a bit!
Laura Wolvaardt: We were hoping for something closer to 150, but wicket is slower than usual (and this could be an above-average score). Hopefully we can bowl well. (On bowling plans) Just pace-off and staying on the stumps as much as I can - I found that tough when I was batting. (On playing for the Brave) I keep moving around, but absolutely love it down here. Really settling in nicely. My first home game (for the Brave), so very excited.
Right. Arlott on a hat-trick now. There have been three hat-tricks in the women's competition so far. She has Southby in her sights
