But the evening truly belongs to Grace Harris, who paced her innings beautifully and powered her side to an imposing total. She found the perfect foil in Cordelia Griffith, who chipped in with a quickfire fifty. Invincibles will rue the errors in the field that cost them extra runs but it's only the first day and both teams have made strong statements, setting a high benchmark. Issy Wong claimed the key wickets that tilted the balance in Spirit's favor, and in the end, the target proved insurmountable as Lanning ran out of gas after a stellar fight, even on an evening where she wasn't at her best form
