12:16pm A good recovery by the Phoenix to put up 137. After 50 balls, they had just 55 on the board but the back end, turbocharged by Jones and Arlott, took them past the 135-run mark. Jones, batting at 4, also held the innings together before unfurling the big shots. Arlott, on the other hand, was in bruising form the moment she entered the fray. Kalis and Perry also got starts, although neither could capitalise.
The Brave would have taken 137 prior to the start of the game. But after keeping the Phoenix down to just 55 after 50 balls, they will feel they have given up an extra 10-15 runs. Cheatle and Corteen-Coleman were the pick of the bowlers: the former incredibly economical; the latter picking up both openers. The defending champions, with the batting resources they have, will still fancy their chances but the run-chase does seem more arduous than it seemed at one stage. Join us in a bit for the second innings!

Bell to bowl the last five. Can the hosts push closer to 135?
