1.2 soft, soft dismissal, and Sciver-Brunt is on the board early! Length outside off and this seems to just hold in the surface. Might have moved away with the angle too and Mooney, looking to go inside out having advanced, slices it terribly. Easy catch for Gupta at short third, and the Giants are one down inside an over and a half! 6/1
2.5 the plan pays off, and Wolvaardt bites the dust! Full ball outside off, tempting the booming drive. Wolvaardt feels the pinch to go after it, given the lack of run-scoring so far. Mumbai, though, have a fielder stationed exactly for that stroke. Deep cover is in position and Wolvaardt picks her out to absolute perfection. Did not get the connection to clear the fence completely, nor did she get over it to keep it down. A big wicket and the Giants are tottering now! 14/2
3.3 high in the air, and gobbled up by Kerr! Beautiful, beautiful work on the fence, and MI dent the Giants further! Given a bit of flight on a length outside off. Hemalatha advances and heaves across the line, despite not being to the pitch of the ball. Gets more height than distance and Kerr gulps up ground moving to her left from deep mid wicket. Settles under it well enough and then completes the catch with a slide. Matthews is pumped, Mumbai are pumped; Gujarat, reeling! 16/3
5.6 Gardner falls, and that is a monumental moment in this contest! Off-pace and into the track outside off. The pull is on, especially with Gardner in this sort of hitting form. On this occasion, though, she just shanks it a little, which brings Sajana into play at deep mid wicket. Sajana tracks it all the way and accepts the offering with glee. Sciver-Brunt with another clutch wicket, and Gardner is dejected as she trudges off! 28/4
16.5 Deol picks it up well, but she also picks out Matthews on the fence! Another dagger to the Gujarat Giants' hearts! Back of a length on the stumps. Deol uses the angle and gets decent purchase on it. The only problem, though, is that it is straight down Matthews' throat at deep backward square leg. A couple of yards either side, and that might have been a flat six. But on an evening where everything has gone wrong for the Giants, Deol could not have found the fielder better! 103/8
8.2 a wild mow across the line, and Yastika whips the bails off in a flash. But was she quick enough in doing so? We go upstairs to find out! Flighted up on a length outside off. Dottin hares down the track and then swings herself off her feet. Only connects with fresh air and even though she makes an attempt to plonk her bat back, Yastika's sharp work behind the stumps catches her out. A really, really questionable choice of stroke at this stage, and the Giants sink further into trouble! 43/5
11.3 massive appeal, and given! Kashvee Gautam has to walk back! Tossed up on a length wide outside off, asking Gautam to fetch the sweep. She takes up that challenge but comes up second-best. The ball scrapes some part of the bat and Bhatia snaffles up the chance behind the stumps. Gautam storms off livid with herself, and another promising stand comes to an end for the Giants! 67/6
13.2 straight to Kerr, and no mistake made this time! Pretty much a repeat of the incident in Matthews' previous over. A little fuller perhaps on off and Simran, looking for the big hit, picks out Kerr. She settles herself, stays side-on, keeps her eyes on the ball till the very end and ensures the Giants slide further into peril! 79/7
17.1 another agricultural slog, and another Gujarat Giants wicket! Floated up full from around the wicket, outside off. Kanwar has an almighty swipe across the line but loses her shape completely. Skews it off the top edge and Gupta, under it at square leg, gobbles up the chance! 103/9

19.6 back of a length outside off. Satghare chips down the track and drills it towards sweeper cover. Both batters decide to go back for the second because, well, why not. Mishra, though, is struggling to make it back. She puts in the dive but that is not enough as Amanjot takes off the bails. Gujarat Giants finish with 120! 120/10

3.4 oh, Hayley Matthews, what have you done?! A long-hop on leg stump and that ought to have been deposited into the stands. This one, though, seems to just hold in the surface enough and that meddles with Matthews. She chalks it and arrows it to Deol, who does the rest at square leg. Not the greatest ball Kanwar will ever bowl in her career, but a vital wicket nevertheless! 22/1
6.6 high in the air and taken by Wolvaardt. No DRS needed this time! Mishra dangles the carrot outside off and Bhatia bites. She hares down, looking to go over long on but is nowhere to the pitch of the ball. Has to reach out in front and clinks it off the toe-end. Wolvaardt settles under the high ball and completes the catch in front of her face. Is there life still in this contest?! 46/2
15.5 chopped on, and that is an anti-climactic end to what was another sumptuous knock! Floated up full outside off. NSB looks for the sweep but this time, perhaps looks too square. The angle of the bat seems to be wrong too and in the end, she drags it onto the stumps. She is disappointed as she walks off, but she has done her job and brought MI to the cusp of their first points this season! 114/5
7.5 trapped in front, and Harmanpreet has to go! Slanted in on a length on middle and off. Harmanpreet, having stepped across her stumps, looks to glance it away. Misses it altogether and gets struck flush on the flap of the front pad. Seemed pretty adjacent and that is what the umpire thought too. Harmanpreet walks off without reviewing and the Giants have two in quick succession! 55/3
14.1 vociferous lbw appeal, and the finger goes up! Zipped in full on middle and off. Kerr shapes for the lap but gets into a bit of a tangle. Fails to get bat on it and the ball thumps her on the pad in front of middle stump. Would have probably missed leg stump. And off stump. Because it was thundering into middle. No review as well from Kerr, which is wise! 100/4
