Shubham chimes in further, saying that Wareham's 31 off 10 balls (having a strike rate of 310) is the highest for any batter ever in the WPL (minimum ten balls faced). And it is also the second fastest partnership in WPL between Perry and Wareham today (46* from 16 balls) with a minimum cut-off of ten balls.
Here is Namooh Shah with an amazing stat. Most runs by a team in the death overs(17-20) in WPL:
68 runs UPW vs GG, DY Patil 2023
67 runs UPW vs DC, Bengaluru 2025
65 runs RCB vs MI, today
65 runs MI vs GG, Delhi 2024
61 runs DC vs RCB, Bengaluru 2024
8:59pm Wow, what a final few overs. For RCB that is. 70 came off the final five, with Ghosh and Wareham front and centre of that carnage. Both struck the ball to different parts, asked Mumbai questions and the hosts simply had no answers. Credit to Perry as well for keeping things ticking and for finding the fence when required. Prior to that, it was the Mandhana show, with the skipper registering her second fifty of the season to build a solid foundation and put RCB on course, alongside Meghana, who got the ball rolling early.
Mumbai, for large parts, seemed to be doing enough defensively, but towards the end, they lost the plot completely. They dropped a fair few chances too, which could be put down to fatigue or just poor concentration. Amanjot, apart from the last over, was their best bowler, with Matthews, Ismail and Kerr all being uncharacteristically expensive. They now have a big chase on their hands, although with the firepower they have, they will feel they can make a decent fist of it. Join us in a bit for the chase!
Ellyse Perry, also the Orange Cap holder now: Nice to post a really good, competitive total. Not sure I contributed too much apart from running a few singles (smiles). Really good start from the openers and then for Richa and Wolfie (Wareham) to play the way they did. It is a pretty good surface. The slower deliveries held up a fraction and it was nibbling a bit when the seam was presented. When you post 200 (199), it is, all in all, a good surface. She (Ghosh) works so hard on our game, she is a natural striker of the ball. Nice to have her in the side and stay at the other end and watch her access different parts of the ground is so impressive. She is a legend. (On Wareham) It is always lovely to play with her. She has played some integral innings for us with Australia. Such a good finisher, accesses different areas. We have a strong Aussie contingent, and nice to have them (in the squad this season).
Kerr to bowl the 20th

DS: "This is the first time RCB have fielded all 6 of their OS players in a WPL season. Dane van Niekerk and Kate Cross did not get games at all in 2023 and 24 respectively. "
