8:59pm RCB huff and puff their way to 147, which in large part, was down to Perry. She anchored the innings and also kept it ticking throughout. With eight wickets in hand and five overs left, RCB seemed destined to push the 160-barrier. But then, RCB contrived to ensure Perry only faced seven balls in the last five overs, with the other batters perishing while trying to up the ante.

While that may have been a missed trick from RCB's perspective, it was also down to how tight and tactically adept DC were. They always seemed to bowl to their field, with no one embodying that better than Charani, who was on debut, but looked the part throughout. Pandey also bagged two wickets, including that of Mandhana, with Kapp the other wicket-taker in the innings. DC will be confident of chasing down this score, but will be mindful of the momentum RCB can generate at this venue if they make early inroads. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Shikha Pandey, Purple Cap holder: I thought I got into the tournament with a good rhythm, but lost it in between. Then I sat with the DC support staff and the backing I have got is immense. It is a good batting pitch, I would say. We did really well to not let them score more than 150. I think it is a really good batting wicket. We have gotten so used to the Bengaluru pitches having good pace and carry that we have gotten used to the hard lengths. But tonight, it is a little slower. I tried my best (for that Perry catch). She (Sutherland) is an awesome athlete and I have to put in a lot of hard yards to be like her (smiles).

Sutherland to Wareham, 2 runs, just a double to end the innings, and RCB finish with 147! Slower ball into the track outside off. Wareham sits deep in her crease and shovels it towards deep backward square leg. Enough time to come back for two, but will that be enough in the grander scheme of things? Only time will tell!

Sutherland to Wareham, no run, Sutherland tests out the middle of the track again outside off, and gets this to carry through very nicely. Wareham backs away, swishes, misses and then looks at the square leg umpire. And once the wide is not called, she reviews. Could be a review in hope. Well under the head, and that hopeful review, unsurprisingly, does not yield anything.

Sutherland to Perry, 1 run, dug in short again, cramping Perry for room on middle and leg. She looks to pull but the lack of room means she shanks it towards deep backward square leg

Sutherland to Perry, 1 run, back of a length outside off. Perry throws her hands at it and scuffs it towards extra cover. Perry has lost her rhythm in the past few minutes

Right. Can RCB get up to 155? Sutherland to bowl, Perry on strike

An excellent spell by Charani on debut, considering she has also bowled the tough overs, and could have had another had the rub of the green gone her way. Brilliant!

Shree Charani to Wareham, 2 runs, shortish and angling into leg stump. Wareham hops back and heaves it towards deep mid wicket for a brace

Shree Charani to Wareham, FOUR, an incredible shot under pressure! Darted in full on middle and leg. Wareham, tired of trying to force it in front of the wicket, brings out the reverse and nails it over short third!

Charani has been constantly deceiving batters in the air

2
Shree Charani to Perry, 2 runs, hangs in the air agonizingly, and Pandey cannot get there! Slanted in on a fullish length, following Perry outside leg. She swishes at it and gets a fat top edge. The ball swirls and swirls enough to land in front of Pandey, who had come in from short fine leg towards square leg

Shree Charani to Wareham, 1 run, tossed up on a length on the stumps. Wareham swipes it towards deep mid wicket

Charani to bowl the penultimate over. A big decision but one the youngster seems very capable of repaying

Pandey to Ahuja, OUT, goes straight up, and another RCB batter bites the dust! Off-pace again and this is hung up outside off. The length tempts Ahuja into a big lofted shot down the ground but the lack of pace means she cannot get the power nor the distance. Easy catch for Shafali at mid off, and RCB's innings is spiralling!

Pandey to Ahuja, 1 run, dug into the track outside off. Ahuja fetches it from well outside the line and drags it off the toe-end towards deep mid wicket

Mel Jones, on air, suggested that RCB could and probably should have retired Bist out at the time-out. They opted not to do so, and Perry, since that break, has faced one out of twelve balls. How crucial could that be? Pandey to bowl out

Shree Charani to Ghosh, OUT, goes a mile up, and Charani has two in the over! And this is a massive, massive wicket! Dangles the carrot on a full length just outside off. Ghosh looks to tonk it into tomorrow but cuts across it a little too much. Gets plenty of height but no distance and Lanning, settling under it at extra cover, makes no mistake!
