Jess Jonassen is the Player of the Match: "Loved it. Bit surprised by the opportunity, but always happy to take it. Had a bit of luck early, but that's part of the T20 game. With the new ball, for the seamers, there was a bit of shape early. It's huge [to be shown confidence in]. It was nice that it was able to come off. It's amazing; we've got almost all bases covered. Kapp is world class, and showed that again. Sadhu coming in for her first game, and taking a wicket. It's nice to know that in a certain situation we have someone put their hand up."

Meg Lanning, Capitals captain: "We bounced back really nicely. Kappy and Shikha take wickets upfront, and it makes it easy. There's been a little bit there for the bowlers; a bit of nibble. It's just about improving each game, and tightening areas which you haven't nailed. We need to keep winning. As a bowling group, if you put the ball in the right areas, there's a bit for you. Feel like we've been improving all the time. It's nice when something comes off like that [on promoting Jonassen to No. 3]."

Shafali Verma: "It was difficult in the first three overs of the second innings. The ball was holding and shaping. So the idea was to stay there till the end. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the fifty. Lanning and I have a certain mindset that we'll hit if it's in our range. We think of building it if it's only 120 [required]. If the ball is moving, then Kappy always tells me. Even in our last match, the ball was holding [on the pitch]. It's really helpful for us. If it's a small boundary, then I have to hit it!"

Ash Gardner, Giants captain: "If you look at DC's bowling line-up, they've got four international quicks. So it was always going to be challenging in the powerplay. They bowled exceptionally well, and put us under pressure. We didn't do well with the bat. We know the potential Fulmali and Kanwar have. To see them take the opportunity and put on a 50-run partnership was fantastic to see. That was a bit of shock to see Jonna come out [at No. 3]! There's nothing to be concerned about as such. When you lose three-plus wickets in the powerplay, it puts you under pressure. So hopefully, we can reflect on that. We have a really quick turnaround."

10.34pm Two points in a comprehensive win, and DC climb up to end the day right at the top of the points table. A complete, all-round performance from them. They had reduced Giants to 41 for 5 - although they would be upset by allowing Giants get to 127 from there - and knocked the target off with complete comfort.
