More stats coming through from our stats team. This is the Giants' highest score ever in the WPL. Gardner's eight sixes are the most-ever in a WPL innings and the ten sixes GG hit are the second-most in a WPL innings. Their score, by the way, is also the joint fourth-highest ever (across all teams), which puts into perspective the enormity of RCB's task and acts as a bit of déjà vu, with the Giants having posted that exact score against this very opposition a couple of years back at the Brabourne Stadium.

9:06pm Wow. That Gardner innings was, well, special, and might have made you run out of superlatives too. She walked in at number four, which may have raised a few eyebrows, given the presence of Deol and Dottin, but she owned that spot, and the innings thereafter. Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat and she seemed a step ahead of the bowlers at all times. Prior to that, Mooney had done her bit, rattling along to a 42-ball 56. Dottin also highlighted the destruction she can cause with a timely 25-run cameo.

Not a great evening with the ball for the defending champions. They seemed to pull things back with the wickets of Wolvaardt and Hemalatha but once Gardner entered the equation, RCB had no answers. Wareham conceding 50 in three overs perhaps summed up their evening and they now have a mountain to climb. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Garth to Deol, FOUR, Deol finishes the innings with a sublime boundary, and the Giants breach the 200-run barrier at the first time of asking! Goes for the wide yorker but Deol has this telegraphed. She shuffles across and opens her bat face, blazing it enough to deep cover point's left, who could not rein it in, despite a dive!
