9:01pm They say the stalwarts of the game find a way to stand up just when the big moments call. Today was a massive match for RCB, given their qualification hopes were still up in the air. And guess who stood up? Perry, who had not picked up a wicket all season, produced the best-ever figures in the WPL.
She kept attacking the stumps, with all of her wickets either coming via the lbw route or by hitting the stumps. All of those scalps were top-drawer, and broke the back of the MI innings. Asha, Molineux and Shreyanka were also among the wickets, ensuring that Mumbai were bundled out for a total below 120.
A pretty abject batting display by MI. They had a decent powerplay but crumbled under Perry's craft in the middle overs. Their shot-selection also left a bit to be desired, and things will have to change dramatically in the second innings if they are to keep their hopes of finishing at the top of the table, alive. Join us in a bit for the chase!
