9pm A good, collective batting display and MI have gotten 161 on the board, which is 20 more than what Charles Dagnall felt would be par during the pitch report. Matthews and Yastika got them off to a decent if not brisk start. Yastika fell after the powerplay but Matthews continued, registering her first fifty this season.

The miscommunication between Matthews and Sciver-Brunt, who was also batting well, threatened to derail the innings but Kerr, Vastrakar and Wong played decent hands to ensure that was not the case.

The Warriorz bowled fairly decently, although they did not cover themselves in glory in the field. There were several dropped chances, overthrows and misfields, and that has played a big role in them having to chase 162. Harris was the pick of the bowlers, with Ecclestone also doing a fine job. The others came in for a bit of tap, with only five bowlers (excluding McGrath) being used.

The Warriorz, as Harris said, will take what they have been served up. But given the troubles they have had while batting, this will not be an easy chase. Back in about 10 for the run-chase.

Grace Harris: (On the score) Could have been a lot worse when Matthews was started out. We will take this. We finished well. They are a fairly good batting unit, so was happy with the way the ball was coming out early. I thought we did exceptionally well (in the powerplay). (On where she would have thrown after the miscommunication between Matthews and Sciver-Brunt) Probably Sciver Brunt's end too, just about, though. Matthews gave us a couple of chances and we thought we were in the game. Tonight, in those conditions, I would have taken Sciver-Brunt. (On the lights at the Chinnaswamy) McGrath said she lost one completely in the lights. We have to figure out how to field better in the next game.

Anjali Sarvani to Kaur, no run, dead straight, and two wickets in two balls for Sarvani! Right in the blockhole on off stump. Amanjot walks across and misses her flick. Gets pinged in front of off stump and umpire Abhijeet Bengeri has no qualms in raising his finger. Amanjot has reviewed this, but not sure what is going to come out of it. Even if the decision is overturned, MI will not get the single they ran. Well, she will not be dismissed, for what it is worth because there is bat involved. Decision overturned, but it is still a dot ball!

Review ongoing for an lbw.

Amanjot is the new batter in. A bit of a delay because someone who should not be on the field ventured onto it

Anjali Sarvani to Sajana, OUT, cleans her up! Length on middle and off. Sajana backs away, trying to access the off side. The ball, though, skids through after pitching and she is late on the stroke. Hears the death rattle soon after and her brief cameo comes to an end!

Ecclestone to Vastrakar, OUT, wild swing, and Vastrakar bites the dust! Ecclestone slows this up beautifully, bowling it on a back of a length on off. Vastrakar hares down the track, gets nowhere to the pitch and swings for the hills. Loses shape completely and skews it off the leading edge. Deepti calls early and completes the catch at short third!

Ecclestone to Vastrakar, 5 runs, darted in full on middle and leg. Vastrakar clears her front leg and drags it towards deep mid wicket. And absolute calamity ensues thereafter. The throw from the deep is not backed up properly, with backward point and short third looking at each other. Vastrakar gets five for her troubles! Okay, hang on, Wong has walked over to the striker's end. That is because when the throw was released, the batters had not crossed over. The third umpire has been called into action, and five runs have been signalled, instead of six

Ecclestone to bowl the penultimate over. MI looking primed to go past 160

Sharma to Kerr, OUT, big appeal, and given! Right into the blockhole on middle and leg. Kerr walks across, looking for the fine sweep but picks too full a ball. Sneaks under her bat and smashes into her boot. Umpire Bengeri raised his finger immediately, and Kerr did not bother with the review, rightly so!
