9:15pm That will be all from us for tonight. We hope you enjoyed our coverage and we will be back with more SA20 action tomorrow. Until then, this is goodbye from Chandan and myself. Take care, everyone!
Noor Ahmad, Player of the Match: I was just trying to contribute to my team and wanted to bowl wicket-to-wicket - that always gives good results. (On chats with Maharaj) Communication in our team is very good. We always talk to each other, they give information about the conditions, about different batters and players. (On adapting to different conditions) It is easy - just keep it simple. Try to do what is my natural ability. Not happy with the result but we will try to come back stronger.
Aiden Markram, Sunrisers Eastern Cape captain: With the bat, we got off to a nice start, had a good powerplay. It was tough in the middle but some good partnerships with Tom and Marco to get a pretty good total on the board. You always worry with a batting line-up like DSG but hats off to the bowlers for taking wickets regularly. (On what he felt was a good score) With what we got, we felt we were going to be in the game. We knew we had to bowl well and take wickets often. You never know nowadays, guys hit sixes for fun. Lots of good things with the bat and the ball, still a few things to improve upon. (On Abell) Great mindset, calm head, and a really good player against spin. His touch game is good, nice guy to have at three and ultimately that 59 is worth a lot more at different venues. (On Jansen and Stubbs with the bat) Marco has been in really good form. It was a crunch moment and you want guys in form in the middle. Myself and Stubbs have not gotten going yet. Thankfully it (promoting Jansen) paid off. Quality side, quality opposition, you take any win against them (DSG).
Keshav Maharaj, Durban's Super Giants captain: We bowled too many soft boundary balls and our fielding is not where we want it to be. Credit to Sunrisers - they outplayed us in all facets. Only a matter of time before we click as a unit but we do need to address it. (On de Kock batting in the middle order) Tactical thing to combat a few situations. He (de Kock) has done an exceptional job, Parsons has stepped up as well. (On what is ailing them with the bat in the middle overs) We are losing a lot of wickets. Application is maybe something we are lacking and finding the right gameplan to tackle (the bowling). (On the fans and their support) Thank you to all the guys for supporting us. It has been a disappointing last two games but hopefully, we can give them something to cherish (in the matches that remain).
8:54pm A clinical and one-sided victory in the end. And to help SEC's case, they win with a bonus point too. They kept things tight in the powerplay and once spin came on, they truly squeezed the life out of DSG's chase. Dawson was brilliant, as was Harmer and the fast bowlers then wrapped things up promptly, bowling at the stumps and demolishing them quite often.
An insipid batting display to follow what was a patchy bowling performance earlier by DSG. None of their batters got going and they seemed to struggle against the lines and the lengths SEC bowled. They are now winless since their opening-game victory against the Pretoria Capitals and might have to indulge in some introspection before their next match on Sunday against the same opposition.
