Commentator: Abhimanyu Bose

10.10pm That's a wrap from Johannesburg. There will be more action tomorrow with Pretoria Capitals taking on Durban's Super Giants so don't forget to tune in for that. This is Abhimanyu signing off on behalf of everyone at ESPNcricinfo. Goodnight!

10.05pm Time for the presentation ceremony.

Faf du Plessis, who is also the player of the match: "It was a tricky wicket. In both innings we saw the new ball moved a lot so you have to keep that intent. One of those innings where it's nice to get the team off to a good start. [The team's performance] I thought we were excellent on the field, especially how the guys put their bodies on the line. I thought we didn't bowl that well in the last three overs which gave us 20 runs more than we would like to have chased. Having a good powerplay was a good way to break their back."

Rashid Khan: "[On the toss] It is important, especially in weather like this but that's not under our control. We still played our own cricket. Especially with the bat, the way the guys fought back was amazing. It was a good wicket to bat on but the weather makes it difficult for the batter to go on and play. Ball was coming nice but with the weather like this, it can get harder. And in the second innings with the rain, the wet ball is difficult. Team is well prepared. Before the competition we had good preparation and had a good start against Sunrisers. We look forward to the home games now. We have that mindset that we had a couple of bad games and now this is going to be a good year. We want to keep things simple."

9.53pm The game has been called off. Joburg Super Kings win by six runs via the DLS method. So the efforts from Faf du Plessis, Leus du Plooy and Jonny Bairstow are enough to ensure the hosts win the chase after a superb performance from the bowlers. MICT were kept in the game thanks to a 65-run unbroken stand between George Linde and Delano Potgieter, but eventually JSK's intent-filled start helps them stay ahead before the weather interrupted. They looked set to win even if the game went the distance, so I doubt MICT will feel too hard done by the weather.

Ben: "Rashid Khan has been really below par by his own standards in the last few editions of the comp, probably the key to MICT's lack of success "

9.50pm Chances look low for the game to resume. Still no updates

Elsewhere, MI Emirates lost out in a one-run thriller to Dubai Capitals in the ILT20.

9.30pm The covers are on again, with the Super Kings six runs ahead of the par score!

Michael : "that's why you don't bowl part timers when rain is near "

Rabada to Bairstow, OUT, Gottim! That's an absolute ripper from Rabada! He has the last laugh after a few words exchanged with Bairstow earlier, and he does it with panache. It's a legcutter that angles in to pitch outside off and seams past the outside edge and just clips off stump as Bairstow has a late push at it. Rabada marking his comeback with big wickets!
