2:33pm An innings of two halves really, with the second half only being salvaged right at the end by Stubbs. 23 came off the 20th and that has allowed SEC to get up to 148, which may not seem daunting but gives them and their strong bowling attack something to work with. Prior to Stubbs, it was Jordan Hermann who did all of the heavy lifting. He timed the ball beautifully and seemed to be batting on a different surface altogether, which should give SEC hope that they can still turn this around.

As for the Royals, their spinners were brilliant, led by their captain Fortuin. Mujeeb was tidy as always and Owen, up until the 20th, had done a stellar job too, alongside Malinga, who in contrast, thrived at the death. The Royals might not baulk at this target, but will enter the break knowing they could have and probably should have been chasing much lesser. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Owen to Overton, 1 leg bye, OUT, zipped in full on the pads. Overton misses his flick and the ball rolls into the on side. Overton was always going to try and risk the second but falls well short on that count. Good work by Owen to get to the batter's end, collect the keeper's throw and whip off the bails!

Overton out to face what should be the last ball

Owen to Stubbs, OUT, goes straight up, and Owen has his man. Finally! Full outside off. Stubbs looks to smash this into the ocean but cuts across it too much. Goes way up but Phehlukwayo (stood at extra cover) gets under the high ball adeptly. Gobbles up the chance, and that gives the crowd an opportunity to rise up and applaud Stubbs off the mark. He was very scratchy for the first 22 balls he faced, but in the final over, found a way to get SEC close to 150!

150 very much within reach now

Owen to Stubbs, SIX, three sixes in a row! My word! Dug in shorter outside off. Stubbs cannot believe his luck and even though he does not middle it, he boshes this over long on!

Was it the right decision to bowl Owen, with Ngidi having overs left?

6
Owen to Stubbs, SIX, six more! The momentum has shifted completely in this over! Slot ball outside off and Stubbs climbs into it. His entire body weight goes into the stroke and he launches it clean over long off!

6
Owen to Stubbs, SIX, right out of the screws! Stubbs is turning it on! Half-tracker outside off and that sits up beautifully for Stubbs. He winds up and thumps it flat over the deep mid wicket fence!

4
Owen to Stubbs, FOUR, Stubbs finds the fence and the crowd finds its voice! Misses the yorker outside off by a bit and pays the price. Stubbs goes dead-straight and smashes it back past the bowler!

It feels like a library at St George's Park. Can Stubbs get the crowd on their feet and SEC up to 140? Owen to bowl the last over

Malinga to Stubbs, 1 run, zoning into the stumps again and Stubbs, unsurprisingly, cannot get this away. Jams it out towards deep square leg and has to settle for a single
18.5
1
Malinga to Dawson, 1 run, banged into the track on middle and leg. The ball gets big on him and Dawson splices his pull. On the bounce to deep mid wicket
18.4
1
Malinga to Stubbs, 1 run, nails the wide yorker. Not much Stubbs can do with that and he drives it straight to extra cover for a single
18.3
1
Malinga to Dawson, 1 run, excellent yorker on leg stump. Dawson cannot get under it and digs it out towards long on

Dawson to try his luck now

Malinga to Jansen, OUT, bulls-eye, and Malinga has his second scalp of the day! Excellent yorker that seems to start on off and tails back into Jansen late. He is looking to go over long on but the movement does him in completely. The ball screams past the bat and smashes into middle stump. Jansen's struggles come to an end!

1
Malinga to Stubbs, 1 run, dropped - oh dear! Slanted in full on middle and leg. Stubbs looks to go downtown and miscues it completely. Arrows it straight to van Buuren, who makes a mess of it. He tried to catch it too low and the ball squirmed out of his hands

Just 16 runs off the last four overs, including the wicket of Markram. Can SEC click into gear now?

Malinga to Stubbs, no run, slower ball into the track outside off. Comes off very slow and Stubbs is too early into his swipe. Kisses the under-edge and dribbles towards the keeper
16.3
2
Malinga to Stubbs, 2 runs, zipped in full on leg stump. Stubbs flicks it towards deep mid wicket for a couple of runs. That seemed to tail in late
16.2
1
Malinga to Jansen, 1 run, off-pace and angling in on a back of a length on off. Jansen tugs it towards deep backward square leg
16.1
1
Malinga to Stubbs, 1 run, length just outside off. Stubbs tips it to extra cover and hares across to the other end

Malinga to bowl the 17th

The Royals have turned the screw in the past few overs and have hauled that run-rate back. SEC still have two very capable batters in the middle, though, with Dawson and Overton, both of whom can give it a whack, also in the shed
