8.28pm: Well, the washout leaves JSK top of the table and unbeaten, while the Capitals sit third after one win, one loss and one no-result. A shame for the Wanderers crowd but this match had long been doomed after heavy downpours. Thanks for keeping myself, Alan and Thilak company, and we'll be back tomorrow for some more SA20 action.

8.26pm: Match abandoned. The official word is: "The match officials have inspected the field. There is no prospect of further play. The match is abandoned and the teams will share the points."

Maneesh: "With half my eyes closed I am constantly looking at the any probable update on match to start. someone please bless me a good sleep by confirming it's DONE !!!" -- Maneesh, I've got good news for you.

Ian: "I'm 15 minutes from the ground. It's a constant slow rain. Not stopping for quite a few hours knowing the highveld. Looks like game over to me."

7.37pm: It looks like game over to me. There are young fans using the grass banks as a slip-and-slide, and there are huge puddles of standing water on the covers and across the outfield.

Gary: "At the ground an it's absolutely bucketing down. There is already significant puddles on the outfield."

7.30pm: Bad news, folks. The rain is very, very heavy. Doesn't look at all promising.

7.20pm: It'll be Conway and Faf to open up for JSK. Rossouw addresses his bowlers in a huddle on the outfield. Uh oh... there's some rain coming down. The players are heading back to the dressing room, and the groundstaff are running on with the covers. Looks pretty heavy!

Thanks Alan. This is clearly a tricky surface and Capitals have several spin options - but you're right that JSK are favourites.

7.06pm: JSK the happier after that, you'd think. They opted to bowl, despite fielding a patched-up attack, and made regular breakthroughs to prevent Capitals building any momentum. You'd fancy them to chase 139, whether or not there's any rain around. Here are the thoughts of Moeen Ali at halfway: "They started quite well, we knew there was a bit of spin in the wicket and we could drag it back. The plan was not go for too many runs and the wickets would come. My first game, to come in and bowl - sometimes when it's spinning it can be harder. You never know, it's a score at the end of the day. Hopefully we can get a partnership and win it." Matt will be back for the restart shortly

Viljoen to Pretorius, SIX, clubbed through the hands of long-off! It was Ferreira under it again, but this was a far more casual effort. Might have just cleared him - but a good way for Capitals to sign off, either way, after a struggle with the bat

Viljoen to Muthusamy, OUT, hacked off a length, plucked from the sky! Brilliant work from Ferreira to send back Muthusamy. He didn't time the shot down the ground but seemed to have got just about enough of it. Ferreira, though, turned and flung up a hand to reel it in
