2:37pm A largely lackadaisical innings, which could have been a lot worse had Jansen not turned on the style through the middle overs. The 51 runs he scored came off 35 balls and while he was at the crease, it felt SEC could even push 140. His dismissal, though, brought a slow-down and a subsequent collapse, with the rest of the damage being done much before he arrived at the crease.

Dupavillon was majorly responsible for that, picking up two in two in his first over, including the wicket of Markram. Bosch, Neesham and Muthusamy bagged two wickets apiece, with Neesham prizing out Jansen. The Capitals will fancy their chances but given what happened the last time they chased in the SA20, they will (or rather should) not take it for granted. Back in a bit with the chase!

Daryn Dupavillon: Something in it for the bowlers, a bit unusual. Got a bit lucky with that one (Aiden wicket) but that is the nature of T20 cricket. In the morning, we thought it would be sticky with all the rain. To win the toss and bowl first was the best scenario and fortunately, we were able to back it up. Not a typical Centurion wicket and hopefully now the boys can take it on. (On if they can chase this score) I think so, it is a difficult wicket. The boys have to apply themselves and hopefully we can take it down.

Neesham to Baartman, OUT, straight to short third, and the defending champions have been bundled out for 113! Slower ball on a full length outside off. Baartman swishes at it because, well, why not. Gets a fat outside edge that floats through to Muthusamy, who does the rest!

Neesham to Baartman, 2 runs, dug into the track outside off. Baartman has an almighty swipe at it and mistimes it so badly that it barely crosses the ring in the mid on region. Back for a brace

1
Neesham to Gleeson, 1 run, length outside off. Gleeson has a flat-footed waft at it and gets a thick outside edge down to short third. Baartman calls for the single and makes it, helped by Muthusamy missing the stumps. A direct hit would have been it for him

Neesham to Baartman, 1 leg bye, ouch! Slower ball into the track on middle and off. Baartman swings like a rusty gate and is so early on the shot that his ribs are facing the bowler by the time he finishes. Gets pinged on that part of the body and gets a leg bye for his troubles

Gleeson is the last man in. At the other end for now, though. Neesham to bowl the final over of the innings. Can SEC somehow scrap their way to 120?

Dupavillon to Overton, OUT, four and out! Dupavillon ends his day with three on the board! Excellent riposte by the quick. Attempted yorker tailing into off stump. Overton might have made contact on the full but all he could manage was a drag onto his stumps. Dupavillon finishes with a three-wicket haul, Overton walks back with a 12-run cameo!

Pretorius to Baartman, no run, length outside off. Baartman comes forward and pushes it towards extra cover, who is in really tight and prevents the single

Namooh Shah tells me that Jansen is the only player to have scored a fifty in the SA20 while batting at 7 or lower. And the best part is that he has done it twice. Pretorius to bowl the 18th

Neesham to Jansen, OUT, goes straight up, and Jansen's rear-guard action is over! Hard length outside off and like so many previous dismissals, the extra bounce does it for the batter. Jansen was looking to swat it away but because the ball got big on him, he sliced across it. Rossouw called early, ran back and completed the catch in the extra cover region. Big moment in the game!
