7:26pm A match-changing (and perhaps match-winning) fifth-wicket partnership, which lasted 41 balls and yielded 91 runs. It came at a time when the Super Giants were just losing their way and it looked like the Capitals would keep them to under 170. Williamson and Mulder, though, had other ideas. The latter began the destruction, before Williamson joined in towards the end. Prior to that, Breetzke and Parsons had combined to get DSG off to a flier.
Not a lot to write home about from a Capitals POV. Muthusamy was brilliant but the others travelled. They now have a mountain to climb. They have the firepower to do it but at this stage, this looks like a steep run-chase. Join us in a bit for the second innings.
Senuran Muthusamy: It was great to contribute to the team in a bowling capacity and put the brakes on in the middle phase. Looking forward to the chase, hopefully we can get it. The powerplay did not go as well as anticipated and we let ourselves down a little. Always love taking wickets. Lovely playing here, really good to be back. In each squad, there are guys that come from different areas and know conditions well. All about putting it together. The way we play the middle overs and the back end will be important (in the chase).
