7:06pm Wow, what a batting display. 121 runs came off the final ten overs and it has taken the Super Giants up to 190. de Kock was front and centre, registering his first fifty this season and finishing with 83 off 51. Smuts played his part too, scoring 52 off 39 and setting the foundation for Klaasen to tee off right at the end. 65 runs came off the last five, and that might have just taken the Super Giants to a score that is above-par.

As for the Royals, well, they will not be pleased with how they bowled, especially at the back end. Their ploy of bowling slower balls and offering width became too predictable and just did not work out, with all the batters cashing in. They now have a stiff target to hunt down, and while they have the firepower to do so, this is going to be a stiff run-chase. Join us in a bit for the second innings!

Ngidi to Klaasen, SIX, six to end the innings - and this is the best of the lot! Back of a length outside off. All of Klaasen's weight is on the back foot, yet, he manages to crunch this over deep cover point!

McCoy to de Kock, no run, big appeal, and up goes the finger! Sizzling yorker that tails into leg stump. de Kock, trying to work it away, is late in jamming his bat down and gets rapped on the back leg. McCoy goes up, and the umpire upholds his appeal. de Kock has reviewed, perhaps arguing that the ball was going down leg with the angle. And he is vindicated. Ball Tracking has the ball missing leg stump, and de Kock survives!

Ngidi to Smuts, OUT, taken superbly by van Buuren! Full toss on middle and off. Smuts' eyes light up and he tries to shovel it over deep backward square leg. Does not quite middle it, though, and that brings van Buuren into play. He leaps up on the fence, takes the catch and then recognizes he is going over the ropes. Flicks it up into the air, goes out of play, comes back in and completes the catch!
