7:15pm An innings of two parts really. The first saw Roy and Buttler dominate the powerplay and put the MICT bowlers under all sorts of pressure. Then, Kaber came into his own in the middle overs, ripping out Miller's off stump. Linde then got in on the act, removing Buttler. That started a slide, which saw the Royals lose their way. Kaber ended up with three wickets, and the last five overs only went for 45.

The ball has, at times, held in the surface and has bounced awkwardly, meaning that the Royals, with 172 on the board, are well in the game. They will hope that their bowlers can do the job again, with Ngidi, in particular, crucial. That said, MICT might also be quietly confident of chasing this down, given how their batters have fared this season.

Join us in a bit for what promises to be a fascinating run-chase!

Curran to Fortuin, FOUR, four to end the innings! Back of a length outside off. Fortuin has a wild slog across the line and gets a thick outside edge that flies over short third man!

Free hit coming up for Fortuin. McCoy at the other end

W
Curran to Fortuin, (no ball) 1 run, OUT, full and wide outside off. Fortuin clinks it to long off. Ngidi decides to hare back for the second but is always struggling. Brevis' pick-up is clean and his throw is accurate. Curran collects one-handed and whips off the bails. But hang on, there is more drama because....Curran has overstepped!

Can the Royals get to 170?

2
Curran to Fortuin, 2 runs, slower ball hung full way outside off. Fortuin reaches out for it and drives it to long off's left for a brace
19.4
0
Curran to Fortuin, no run, wide yorker that seems to sneak beyond the tramlines. Fortuin leaves it alone but the umpire is unmoved. Perhaps because Fortuin took a step across his stumps before the ball was released
19.3
1
Curran to Ngidi, 1 run, off-pace on a full length outside off. Ngidi swings his bat like an axe and drags it towards long on
19.2
0
Curran to Ngidi, no run, full and slanted across the batter outside off. Ngidi swishes wildly at it and misses, unsurprisingly
19.1
1
Curran to Fortuin, 1 run, just short! Length outside off. Fortuin has a mighty swing at it and chalks it. Esterhuizen seems to pick it a little late and in the end, cannot get there, despite the dive

Curran to bowl the last over. How many can the Royals get from here?

Stone to Ngidi, no run, banged into the track on middle and leg. Ngidi, having backed away, wafts at it, and gets nowhere close to the ball

1
Stone to Fortuin, 1 run, edged, and almost taken by Rickelton! Back of a length in the channel. Fortuin nibbles at it and gets a healthy outside edge. Rickelton dives full-length to his right but cannot quite grasp it. Very tough chance. Rickelton, in fact, has done well to prevent the boundary there!

1
Stone to Ngidi, 1 run, dug into the track on off stump. Ngidi backs away and runs it down to third man

Ngidi in now

W
Stone to Van Buuren, OUT, some serious air-time, but Curran pouches it! Another length ball outside off. This seems to stick in the surface and van Buuren is a tad early into the stroke. Goes a mile up off the toe-end. Curran has to wait an eternity at deep mid wicket and completes a smart reverse-cupped catch!

6
Stone to Van Buuren, SIX, what a shot! In the slot just outside off. van Buuren walks across his stumps, snaps his wrists into action and whips it over deep backward square leg!
18.1
4
Stone to Van Buuren, FOUR, goes full, and pays the price! This is wide too, and while van Buuren only gets an outside edge that flies past the keeper, that is not quite bowling to the field!

Stone to bowl the penultimate over. Mid off and mid on in the circle. Stone might go into the pitch this over

Curran to Van Buuren, 1 run, into the blockhole outside off. van Buuren wafts at it and chunks it off the inside half of the bat towards deep mid wicket

Hari: "Jason Roy has just made a mark to his captain in this game. Well, with all the English openers in form, it will be a huge headache for the selectors to select from the likes of Roy, Hales, Bairstow, Salt, Jacks given that Jos is certain." -- Well, Hales has retired from international cricket, but yes, it will be a tough call for whoever will have to make it.

1
Curran to Fortuin, 1 run, low full toss just outside off. Fortuin sits deep in his crease and chips it to long on
17.5
1w
Curran to Fortuin, 1 wide, another cutter but this one slides beyond the tramlines on the off side. Some exercise for the umpire
17.4

Rabada to Van Buuren, 1 run, low full toss speared into the batter's toes. van Buuren digs it out to long on
16.5
2
Rabada to Van Buuren, 2 runs, safe! Hard length on off stump. Gets big on van Buuren and he shanks it. Gets just enough to clear mid wicket, and gets back for two. Fortuin copped a stray throw as he made his way back to the bowler's end

The physio is out to check on van Buuren. It seemed like a glancing blow, and he should be good to continue once the mandatory concussion tests have been done

16.4
4lb
Rabada to Van Buuren, 4 leg byes, streaky! Banged into the track on off stump. van Buuren swipes across the line and is late on the stroke. Gets pinged on the side of the helmet and the ball trickles away past the keeper
